trazodone for insomnia

how much would one take a night, and what could be possible side effects? And will it knock me out? the bottle says 50mg per night, but im not sure if it was just used for an antidepressant at that dose. The number ive read is 150mg to get some sleep.

ask for 25mg amitriptiline (spell?) it stimulates hunger too!

priapism is an uncontrolled, sustained erection....painful as hell and a very uncommon side from Trazodone. 1 in 10,000 people get it....i wouldnt worry.

Start on the lowest dose of trazodone...50mg. Try other things first though....sex, exercise a few hours before sleep, milk, etc.

100 mg will normally knock me out all night, you do build up a tolerance to it, and it is not actually a sleep aid, simply an antidression, so eventually it will do nothing to make you sleep.

If you are having personal prolbems that cause the insomia, trazadone simply DOES NOT work. You still stay up all night and look and feel like crap the next day.

I am on it right because of personal problems with my ex-girl friend (I want her back) all the trazdone in the bottle won't help me sleep.
