It is my opinion that anybody who makes a general statement about any one ethnic group is a complete fucking moron.
I have met and trained with many Thai people. I have taken in a lot of their culture. There are bad people and good people in Thainland, like in any other country. That is a fact, not an opinion.

LOL, there is no more generalized statement you could make than saying "there are good and bad people in Thailand" or in any country for that mater so yep I'll have to agree with you on that one bud. Exactly what is Thai culture? Muay Thai originated from Burma. Thai style cooking originated from Laos and Cambodia. The rest of what could loosely be called culture is from China. The Thais have adopted aspects of the cultures that surround them and called them their own imo.
OK, let me give you a real everyday example as an insight into the psyche of the average Thai.
This week there was a guy on a motorbike hit by a truck right outside my office. He was knocked unconscious in the middle of the road. I'm standing watching the scene from the 6th floor. The truck that hit him pauses for a moment, the driver pops his head out the window to confirm that he hit something and then drives off. The rest of the traffic doesn't stop, no the Thais just go on as if he's a traffic obstacle and begin driving around the guy. Unbelievable!
Run downstairs, stop the traffic and drag this guy to the side of the road before another idiot drives over the top of him. He's going in and out of consciousness and bleeding from his nose and mouth from a head injury. Phone the ambulance once, wait 10 mins, nothing. Phone again, wait 10 mins nothing. All this time not a single Thai person offered any assistance what so ever. People walked past on the path, drivers drove around his smashed bike in the middle of the road. Make the decision to put him in the back of my truck and take him to the hospital myself because he's bleeding heavily and starting to shake. Get him to the emergency room and there standing outside is the ambulance drivers sitting smoking cigarettes and having a laugh.
Apparently the hospital is not interested in call outs to Thais on motorbikes because if they're on a motorbike it means they more than likely don't have any money and if they go out to the scene then they have to take responsibility for the treatment that he may or may not be able to pay for. Best not take the chance of someone not being able to pay, better to let them bleed to death on the sidewalk. When they get a call for a motorbike accident they say "on the way" and then forget about it.
Don't know what it's like where you come from but where I come from folk don't drive around an unconscious bleeding man on the road; they get out and do what they can to help. This is not an isolated incident, it happens everyday and I've seen it countless times. Thais don't have that love for their fellow man, they simply don't care if that person is not part of their immediate family circle, life is cheap. I've met some very genuine Thais, one of which was my Muay Thai 'ajarn' in Bangkok but unfortunately the vast majority do not fit into this category.
If you want to talk facts Rick then the average IQ scored in Thailand as printed in last weeks Bangkok Post is 79, which is borderline deficiency (WAIS) aka stupid.
