I had a bunch of viruses, most of which were cleaned off this computer. I used AVG's Free Virus Scan software to get the job done. It seems to have worked.
However, some things are permenately fucked for this computer. If not permenant, then I just don't have a damn clue what's wrong or how to fix it. In any case, I wanted to ask about transferring files (burning to CD-R and uploading) to my new computer. The one I don't have yet, but will probably get soon.
If I scan the files (whatever files I want to carry over) and no virus is detected, should I still move it over on to my system? Or, could some of the stuff carry anything lethal for my new comp, even if a scan doesn't read it?
If a file was infected, but no longer is, would it be safe to carry over, is basicaly what I'm asking.
