Training Update

Haven't been posting much but still training and thought I'd check in - been doing a mix of a modified 5 x 5, WSB for skinny bastards and modified HST.

I've been practicing cleans and think I'm getting better but I still need to be a lot faster and my form is inconsistent - I still have to think a lot and sometimes I do a powerclean when I want to do a full clean :Chef:

But, I did get up to 80kg which is a big accomplishment for me - my goal for now is 100kg.

A few weeks back I deadlifted 210 x 3, so that's kind of a PR

Bench is down and so is my squat a little bit, each about 10kg off my best. OTOH I was able to do a full pause squat on my 3rd set, 5th rep at 130kg, so maybe my form is improving.

In any case, hope everyone else's training is going well. I have some nagging aches and pains but nothing I can't train around. :chomp:
 
do you own a copy of starting strength? Read the chapter on the power clean.

during the pull off the floor your hip raises before the bar comes off the floor. furthermore you mustn't bend your arms during the movement.

you look a lot like me when I started doing the oly lifts.
 
Yeah I have SS - in fact I have the figure of the step by step clean copied onto the wall :chomp:

Unfortunatley, I still have a lot of habits I need to break like the ones you mentioned. Like I said there's a lot of thinking involved - my other ones are to make sure I shrug explosively on the 2nd pull and whipping my elbows on the catch.
