i really didn't like the movie very much at all.

I thought it was just too overboard.

And as for Denzel...I didn't believe his character...over done if you ask me (which no one did).

Read an interesting interview with Denzel when the movie first came out (saw it the theatre and just bought the DVD).

Apparently Denzel, the producer, and one of the co-ordinators went to L.A., in the barrio/ghetto (whatever). Alot of the "extras" in that movie were actual gang members.

So all three of these Hollywood types are in the hood - talking to gang members (packing guns and whatnot), getting permission to be in the area, and film them for in the movie. Out of nowhere this older black woman works her way through the crowd yelling "Denzel! I love that man!". She invites him into her apartment for lunch. Not being one to offend - Denzel accepts. Goes with the woman, her son (a gang member), and eats lunch - some good food by Denzel's words.

So he thanks the mother and son, gives the mother a hug, and walks out. All the gang members are gathered outside with the producers shaking their heads.

Denzel: What's up?

Gang member: You untouchable now man. You just broke bread at the table of the head gang member with his mom.


Talk about making friends with the right people.
