Training bodyparts on off days??

visions

If there is a specific bodypart that you feel is lacking porportion to the rest of your body say for example your arms, do you think it would be unproductive to add an additional say 3 sets on off days??

For example if I were doing one body part per day, and on chest and shoulder days I added an additional 3 sets of tris on top of my arms workout of 12 sets?? So basically your doing 18 sets spread out throughout almost every other workout??

Basically my arms are one of my weaker points and I really want to speed up the development of one body part as opposed to another??

Any suggestions?

It is good to shock oyur muscle into submission and new growth.

That is what arnold used to bring up lagging bodyparts, he would train them more intensily... sometimes for entire day and sometimes each day (light workouts)

For example he had a light dumbell below his bed. Each morning he would do a light set of lat raises with one arm to bring his shoulders. having a dumbell under his bed also provided him with the weapon to defend himself from franco columbo in the mornings and late at night. hahah!

And Arnold also had monster genetics and ate steriods for breakfast.

Don't train the same bodypart several times a weak, unless you've got it really carefully mapped out. You will overtrain.

Here is what you SHOULD do:

Train weak bodyparts FIRST in the week and FIRST in your workout.

train a weak area no more than twice per week...train hard on the basics...do them first in your workout...not too many sets though
