Traditionally, who pays for weddings, bride or groom?

Traditionally with Italians, the bride's parents pay for the wedding, but more so now these days it just gets split down the middle, or if one side has more guests than the other, you just pay for your own number of guests. With my sister's wedding, the groom had twenty and we had 200. Wouldn't have been fair to split it down the middle..lol

no, ouzo was delivered by ME (in a 2 tonne truck, that took a long bloody time to unload!) along with everything else and we didnt have a goat. besides, it would ahve taken a whole herd of goats, and oodles of chickens so yah

was bloody expensive though, i would have eloped and saved the cash

Usually the parents of the bride do it. My parents already have money set aside for my sisters wedding.

we split the cost of the wedding. The bride gives out presents to her in-laws and the people in the wedding and when I say presents I mean huge bunndles with stuff. Also, the groom payes for everything the bride wears, from head to toe including underwear, bra, stockings, her hair do. The groom and his parents usually cover the bride in gold - necklases, earings.....

My buddy and his wife got married one night at a small church he grew up in. They only invited the immediate family and it was brief and cheap. They then had fun with the money they saved.

Hopefully I can find a female with some sense like that, but they are very rare.
