Hilarious! It goes to prove multiculturalism doesn't work. Plus they need to lower standards just to get them by. In the end it will make them less competitive in the workforce and more will end up on failing.

i've told peopel for eons - canada is a pretty racist, segregated place full of people in denial and arrogant.

i hope there's a white-focused one too now. maybe an asian one. i wonder how this school works. A white person shoujld try to enroll. Maybe a 1/2 black. Maybe one with black ancestory.

They're still running the old british system up here......absolutely irritating the red tape you run into everywhere. But funny, I don't see the whole racism thing up there.......can someone enlighten me? There's so much cultural diversity up here. I don't sense the same racial tension when I walk around that I do in the states.

ok, read the article.......not sure that's a terribly good idea. I mean, you have to address why african american students are dropping out at 40%....than work from there. Something tells me that the parents are more to blame for the drop out percentage then the kids are.

There are other models that are very succesful.
In Boston, we have the Metco program which allows kids to go to schools in much higher SES towns; the kids do incredble - plus it teaches the lil white rich kids a little bit about others that aren't so fortunate in life. Thus it helps to breakdown stereotypes.
This plan is a disaster waiting to happen.

SEATTLE – Two men were wounded this morning in a shooting at a Central District restaurant.
Police responded to reports of the shooting at roughly 11:15 a.m. at Philadelphia Cheese Steak restaurant, located at 23rd and Union.
KING 5 has learned that two men were shot. One man works at the eatery and one man was shot in the head. Both were hospitalized with critical injuries.
It's unclear if the shooter randomly opened fire or targeted specific people.
Streets are closed in the area and dozens of police are at the scene, including members of the police gang unit.
Police describe the suspect as a black male in his 20s, wearing a black fluffy down jacket and dark pants with a gray patch. The suspect vehicle is a 2002-2003 black sedan or Lincoln with tinted windows and gold or chrome rims, according to scanner reports. It was last seen headed northbound on 23rd, a main route in the Central District.
The shooting occurred at the same restaurant where the owner was killed back in 2003. Troy Hackett was found shot to death in his car on July 30, 2003. The restaurant was then known as “Philly’s Best Steaks and Hoagies.” His murder remains unsolved.

Well, in most major U.S. cities whites move where the better schools are, which often means where the black students aren't. You end up with not just mostly black inner city schools but in Atlanta almost all the schools on the south side are mostly black. I'm not sure there's a big difference between building a black school and whites moving out which creates a black school. Suppose they open it up to white students in 2 years. Maybe taking the non-conformist hoodlums out of white schools and putting them all together in a black school isn't so much about giving the black students an alternative as it is taking them out of the other schools without coming off as racist?

I was really pissed at this whole process. The 40% dropout rate for black students has nothing to do with the fact they aren't learning more about their culture.

The woman who just had her son murdered said it best - this will only promote more bad feelings, and more segregation. Being black and growing up in Canada and now having my own kids in school I can tell you that every school in Canada is a white focus school.

This is all tantamount to putting a finger in the dike. It might make blacks feel better about themselves, but in the end, it will do nothing to raise their school scores, which cannot be separated from their IQs. That’s PC anathema to say the least, but even the most self-deluded liberal knows this in their heart.
Black failure in academics is ubiquitous and intransigent, and all the nutty leftist solutions to narrow the white/black gap have predictably failed. The very real genetic differences in native intelligence among the races simply can’t be undone by any amount of social engineering.
That said, I applaud and encourage separate schools for blacks. Their schools, and those of whites will be more harmonious because of the separation. As we know, diversity as a strength is a one way street, to the extent that proximity to whites might benefit blacks at school. For whites, standards of academia and decorum will decline toward the lowest common denominator when the groups are mixed.
