torn pec help

I had what seemed to be an incomplete pec tear on the night of Dec 27. There was a small bruise along my bicep a few days after. It has been 5 months and I still am training with poundages that are half of what I was doing. Also there is what looks like a tendon that is visable when I hold my arm at a 90 degree angle that wasnt there before. I was under the impression that doctors couldnt help unless it is a complete tear, but 5 months is a long time. Please help with any advice, escpecially advice rooted in experience

i would stop training and get to the doctor before you do some serious damage, doctors can sew up parcial tears or even give you some drugs to help the healing process go quicker, that tendon could possibly be detached if you see it in a weird spot so you may need surgury to get that back in place....good luck

I had a complete pec tear in 98. You MUST go see the very best sports doc that you can find. My first doc, said I would heal naturally. After a year, I finally went to someone that knew what the hell they were talking about. This is a miserable injury that will only get worse the longer you wait. My doc said that had it been repaired immediately, I would not have missed a beat.

A tendon type repair is repairable. WIth my injury, I also blew out half of my bicep, the pec tendon was re-attached by drilling holes in the bone and tying the tendon back down. I still have not been able to get the hole in my bicep to recover. Muscle to tendon repairs are almost impossible to surgically repair because when they stich the muscle back together, the stiches can tear again. SInce myinitial tear, I have also had 2 other tears, both muscle to tendon typ. One was surgically repaired, only to tear again.

Again....GO SEE THE BEST DOC YOU CAN FIND ! This is not a really common or often seen injury so it might take you some time to find a good doc. If you're anywhere near FL, I can send you to my doc.

Good luck

Never tor my pec, but I tor the shit out of my biceps! Not something you want to gut or mess with! Ditto! See a doc, stop training etc! Common Sense!

I may have reinjured it ( if it ever healed ). I dont know, but I currently dont have insurance. Also, I do live in Fl. Please tell me who to see. I live in Tampa, St Pete area..... I dont know what to do, Im horribly depressed. Im also trying to get my natural levels back up. I got off of everything
