I've been having problems with rounding my back when I deadlift, so I've been working on correcting the issue. Part of the problem seems to be my stance - I just can't seem to find a comfortable starting point (conventional dead). My second rep always seems to be smoother than my first rep.
I read an article in IronMan about using top-down deadlifts to correct your stance, and thought I'd give it a try. Basically, you start at the top, lower the weight to the ground making sure your back stays arched, pause, and lift. It definitely seemed to help.
Has anyone else used this approach? If so, how long did you use it before you switched back to starting from the ground?
