to each his own. personally as a musician i like when people actually make music with instruments where there's a dynamic that is absent from repetitious beats.
Totally don't know what you mean. But I find it interesting that a someone would seek to dismiss any modern huge musical genre. See, I don't think you know your techno from your drum n bass....
listen to TOOL's idols, King Crimson. listen to something off of the ConstruKtion of Light or The Power to Believe. Some of the best musicianship ever. Their lyrics aren't too similar to tool's at all, but they play some vicious nasty amazingly coordinated rock.

i play too, and think i'll never be satisfied, but that's what drives me to get better. just like with bodybuilding, i can't see myself being satisfied, but i push harder to get better
