Too tall or Too short???

Guys - would you agree that there is a "perfect" size meaning height that judges look for.....I mean sure you have a few guys squeez by who are under 5'6 and a few over 6'1, but for the most part, the ideal size is around 5'8-5'11...why is that? I always got dung for being too tall to advance...I did well in locals, but to get farther I'd need about 50lbs...
 
I'm 5'10" and can barely fit in a coach seat on an airplane. :)

Arnold is 6'2".

Lee Haney is 5"11".

Ronnie Coleman 5'11".


Does that tell you anything?

In general their frames are easier to fill out than ours (I am 6'2"). We have longer limbs and torso. So at 225lbs they look super thick compared to us at that weight.

Have the judges told you that you need more size?

I def. agree with what 8and20 said. I saw Ronnie at last years Arnold Classic and Expo and he didn't look like he is 5'11". I am 5'7" he was maybe 2in taller than me.

25 more lbs and i might be ready 4 the stage. then i will for sure need 1st class cuz coach wont cut it...lol

I havent competed in years but am making a comback,,,my goal is to get to 250 and cut from there to hopefully a shredded 225......yes, the judges gave me a hard time, well, said it was my ONLY downfall as my genetics, symmetry, muscle bellies were all on top
 
Right now I am about 190 and 6'2....just got a new trainer and new diet...I'm on 500mg of test and eq.....here's what he has me on...thoughts?

Myoplex delux since I have 3 boxes to use as postworkout and a banana for extra carbs......since the last meal of the day will be reallyu close to training and to bed, 1 cup of carbs still to replenish....when I run out of myo, he wants me on a protein blend and waxy maize as my carb...I like it....

I love how you got that shit broken out by grams. I wish everyone would be so precise. Most would be shocked how short they fall of what they think they are getting. I would like to see a tad more protein for meal 1 but that is minor. Looks good overall. I would personally blow up like the marshmellow man on that many carbs....lol

What sort of diet adjustments do you have in mind if start gaining too quick or not quick enough?

Monitor by the use of bf calipers and the mirror, not the scale......I'm on gear, remember that and I agree more protein in meal 1......carbs really isnt too much, the bulk are in the am and post workout......I've heard a lot of critism saying I need more.....but anyways, we'll adjust 250cals up or down.....

So given that...I am right on the baseline......only problem now is I need 60lbs, but since the contest I am in in 15 months away, I'll take half that for my first contest back.
 
your buddy is 5'4 he will do pretty will actually..

as stated the shorter you are the more massive you look, at a lower weight. There was a guy in my class 5'3 he looked like light heavy with the size he had at such a small weight..

How do you find the ostrish? must be lean and expensive..

I would add some read meat in possibly meal 5.. to up the fat intake, because you have alot of sources of LEAN LEAN meat ( tuna/chicken ostrich) minus the salmon of course
 
If I had 1 inch less back and 1 inch less calf I would look like one big compact mf'er but the way I stand now at 6'2" - I look skinny from the knee down

Let's see...today I bought some ostrich patties....4.99 for 2 patties....they weight about 6-8oz after cooked.....so $5 a meal? Def. Cheaper ways to go but it's excellent source of red meat and lean....96% beef would prob be adequate, but not cheap either...

if you take the average of them all it comes out to be like 5'9
(being fancos 5'5 off sets arnolds 6'2)

what I find interesting is 6 guys 5ft 9 or under held mr o titles
while so far only 5 guys 5'10 or over held titles

so really it balances out , a trend in taller guys was over come by jay cutler being only 5'9

so i would say someone 5'8 could be the next mr o as eazy as someone 5'11 could be

Yeah, I'm 6'4"!! Really sucks when it comes to telling someone what you bench, squat, etc.. With these long ass arms and legs, my numbers are way low compared to most people. But a size 15 foot does help out in the squat rack I guess.

I'm just happy my height didn't come in an ecto body type. I can get fat in a hurry if I don't watch my carbs.
 
cool, i haven't seen them around here or not in the avalibility id like.. Bison is good change too you should try that. Fairly lean too!

lol I was going to comment on that. Where the fuck you find ostrich meat? I've never tried it. I thought the weirdest foods were just in the south...lol

I'd be happy with an ostrich egg every breakfast. :D
 
faiz - Eq really hasnt kicked in...only 3-4 weeks in I'll let you know....where do you guys live? I'll find it i your area....

I just got out of the insanse alsyalym...nah, but you know my problems I had...they are over for now thank god...heaviest I've been in many manyh years....no more of that food aneroxic shit......glad we could become bros...how did you do? diet on point??? That was my first fear......but I got time...I also need to get my training down...I've been going 7 days a week...no cardio and arms twice, so I count it as an off day, but I do need to redo my schedule drop the 30 set sessions and ibnclude legs........sucks....
 
just realized.....this is going to be tax season....so my third meal will be about noon with my 4th meal about 3-4pm with training at 7pm leaving me with only my pw shake and then my prebed treat of cookie and shake...I think I need another meal in there number 1 after my pw shake and then I also need more protein in meal #1...I have a call into my trainer....maybe you guys could offer some advice. Then my training needs work too...no cardio but I do like to take only one day off a week......hmmm
