Too much peanuts/peanutbutter??

Fresh peanuts and NATURAL PEANUT BUTTER are the same thing, the butter has oil added to it to make it into a pastey like texture.

The hydrogenerated oils are in the leading brands like skippy and peter pan, these w/ a host of other ingrediants give its peanut butter a solid form and allow it to stay this way even at room temp. All the healthy fat in regular peanut butter is destroyed due to heavy processing and this is why its not a good idea to consume.

Natty peanut butter on the hand is an excellent diet food or bulking agent. P.B on bread is not a terrible idea, it depends on the individual. For a hard gainer, this is an excellent meal ( w/ a pro shake on the side) for getting in cals. I had peanut butter to everything when bulking, bread, shakes eggs and eggwhites. On the topic of peanut butter making you more hungry, this is also an individual thing. Some it might make full, some may feel hungier. Its a fat and usually fills people up, but a tablespoon isnt a big serv. and its is dense and packs a god amount of cals in a small portion.

Now onto having too many carbs and sugars???? WHAT??? Im staring at a bottle of natty peanut butter right now, and it reads 2 grams of sugar (less than most whey protein supps) and 6 carbs (4 of which are fiber and can be excluded from your carb total for the day). Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Not to high for my diet.

Ultimately, its going to come down to your goals and what type of diet your on. But as far as ditching the natty p.b, theres no reason unless you simply dont like the taste.

in my view, pb is pure, unadulterated evil. i CANNOT eat "one serving." Fuck--I used to eat half a jar at a time.

I haven't had any pb at all for over a month, and now i don't crave it. take it from an addict--if you can't eat just one serving, you're probably better off not eating it at all.

RIGHT. I just threw the remaining half of the jar away this morning after I had 3 spoon fulls last night. What a crappy feeling (out of control, no self discipline re: this certain food).

Of course, I sealed the lid up tight just in case it's midnight and I need to rummage through the garbage tonight for just one more bite. :D

Good God, doesn't anyone have any self control??

:D :D :D

ah, come on, dude...i do 60 minutes of intense cardio a day, intense lifting 4 times a week, eat clean as hell...I think I'm doing pretty damn good. And if I have to throw garlic powder into my peanut butter so I won't eat the whole jar, that's still better than all the slobs who opt for Value Meals every day.

So there. :)

Mmmmmmm.....garlic powder and peanut butter....:p :p :p

Yup. I gotta douse it with garlic powder. I've wasted a lot of money using that tactic.

Sad, isn't it?

But that is the allure of pb...the crunchy kind with the oil on top...[starting to froth at the mouth]

I just can't think about it anymore.

1. Welcome to the Board.

2. whats the pros and cons of Regular Peanut Butter vs Natural Peanut Butter.... i compared the ingredients..virtually identical.? so why not eat skippy..rather than this organic shit?

Verizonizer, look up in the thread, I think point 2 is answered.... one big reason is that natty doesn't have any trans fatty acids (dunno if that one was said yet or not).

In case anyone's interested, I went ahead and bought the Smuckers, and just tried some. Needs stirred because the oil separates, and needs refrigerated. Tastes like PB to me, maybe not quite as good as regular PB, but we all know how that is do we not? Not as bad as going from flavored instant oatmeal to just plain oats, or from white bread to 100% wheat. I'll probably stick with it, but I despise the cost. 16oz cost me 2.67, where I used to get Skippy on sale for 1.58 for 18oz. Combined with the deli turkey never being on sale anymore, it costs me over 30 bucks a week in groceries (just normal food!) Add whey, flax, etc, and I think I'm spending as much to eat as my 350lb 35% bf whale of a room-mate and his equally whalish "woman". Dammit dammit sonofabitch! :smash:

holy shit this thread is making me want some pb. *runs to the kitchen and satisfies himself with all the natty pb* :p :D
