Too much peanuts/peanutbutter??

Assuming that the fat ratios for my diet are in order, would there any problem with eating too much peanuts or peanut butter? I heard somewhere that there was a chemical in peanuts that was not all that great? I know they have omega's but maybe 2-3 servings per day?

Also, there is technically NO difference between Natural PeanutButter and peanuts, Right? One is just grounded up ... :(

Peanuts and PB can be a good source of fats, when used properly.

Just follow the basic rule of not having peanuts/pb with carbs in the same meal.
Sorry, no pb on toast.

Also be careful of the calories - a few servings per day can add up really fast.
One tablespoon of natural pb is about 110 calories.

Re peanuts vs peanut butter - I believe you are correct - they are the same,
assuming your peanut butter doesn't have salt or sugar added.

As for a chemical in peanuts that harmful, I haven't heard that.

r the chemicals ur talkin about hydronated oils i believe there called, i think i heard they cant be digested by the body, or if someone else knows?newayz they are only in regular pb not natural.

fuck!
ive been eating peanut butter on wholegrain bread
is this a big no no then??

My advice

Get rid of the PB all together, depending on what you get it has sugar, and I think it induces cravings. It is hard to just have 1 table spoon of Peanut butter, and unless you get a knife and meausre out exactly how much PB you are getting odds are you are eating more then 1 tablespoon per feeding. Flax OIL, FIsh oil, olive oil, get on board

Personally I have used 2 tbsp natural peanut butter daily on my cutting diet with excellent results. It satisfies my "sweet" craving and fills me up. I eat it alone, though. not on bread.

I don't think I could give it up. It's one of the only things I look forward to eating all day :p

Great, I too eat pb on 100% whole wheat bread. Is this why I have a flabulous gut? :p Well, seriously, should I knock it off? No bread at all?

Also, a thread w/in a thread... I was wondering about Smuckers natural PB vs. all the other natural PB brands in the health section. Smuckers has peanuts and salt in the ingredients, the other brand had just some fancy-prepared peanuts on there. Sat. fat was 1/2g higher on the other brand, but a couple more grams of protein. And it was 1.10 more expensive for 2 more oz. Is there really a big difference here, can I just get the Smuckers (the one that's only twice as expensive as regular pb)?

I have to agree with victor. I love PB, but eating a little makes me want a lot. If you can limit yourself the go for it. I however have to keep my pantry baren or I'll eat everything in sight.
