Tommy Maddox(update)

Zerxes

New member
Up & walking around unassisted today. Feeling in all extremities. Diagnosis was a concussion, and Spinal concussion, NOT contusion. "Contusion" is where there is swelling or trauma to the actual area, whereas being "concussed" is basically electrical. From what I heard anyhow.

Good to hear that TM is walking and in full effect man. That was some scary shi*. I remember the Scott Merseau, Dennis Byrd collision years ago. I will never forget it. Mike Utley too! A very real part of the NFL and it is often overlooked. The one sport that the players actually EARN every single penny of their contracts.

That is great news. Any injury with the spinal column and loss of movement in extrimities has got to be terrifying. He's actually a great story, being out of football and all to come back and enjoy success like he has. Hopefully he will have a speedy recovery.

jesus what happened to the poor guy?

He took a rather innocuous hit to the shoulder, but was knocked cold, and lost feeling in all his extremities for 45 minutes bro. He litterally did NOT move on the ground for like 15 minutes. They cut away the facemask from his helmet, had him strapped to a gurney, and instead of a cart, had him taken out in an ambulance. I was almost in tears. The guy is truely inspiring. I hope he isn't out too long. I might have to request some Thorazine from my Shrink, if Kordell plays any longer than a week or two.

I starte watching maddox in the XFL and i knew he was the best in that league easily... it affected me too sunday... i like to see guys defy the odds.
