Y? Cause he made a good point. Lame. U have no concept of football. :04 on the clock u take a knee. Its over. U dont try to bowl over peeps. Even if it worked so what u get the ball with :01 on clock. All u can do is throw it up. That statistically has a 7% chance of working. Actually i dont even think its that high. The game is over and the other coach shudnt have tryin to b a douche bag tough guy and accept he lost. Cuz the game was lost before the fourth quarter even started.

dick butkus used to use up every single one of the bears timeouts at the end of the game, to stop the clock, so he could take one more whack at the fucker in the other jersey before the clock ran out and his actions could be reclassified as assault...that's football...and tom coughlin is a pussy.
 
Coughlin is wrong.
If you are taking a knee or whatever, you don't assume you know what the other team is doing. Ditka says he is wrong. It seems like that's the majority opinion.
I understand Coughlin doesn't like it, but it was legal football, so he shouldn't be making an issue of it.
 
My first reaction was to aside with Coughlin but after thinking about, I agree with digi. If there's still time on the clock and the game is close, there's still a chance something crazy could happen. I really don't see why it was a big deal.

herman edwards scored a touchdown in a similar situation...the giants took a knee, the eagles ran them over...the giants coach got pissed...the next play, instead of taking a knee, they ran a play, there was a fumble, herm edwards scooped it up and ran it in for a touchdown...the eagles won...they went 9 - 7 that year and made the playoffs...because of that one play.

however, i don't think greg schiano was thinking about anything like that...he was just wanted his team to play to the double-zero...nothing wrong with that...fuck tom coughlin...he's a fucking pussy.
 
I've always been coached to play until there is no time remaining and to leave it all on the field, no matter what sport or how far behind you are. Fuck giving up the fight just because someone's bullshit stat sheet says there isn't much of a chance.

100% wrong. at the time of the herm edwards play, kneeling was not allowed so they were actually running the ball to end the game. after that kneeling was instituted. coughlin may be a pussy but you're a fucking beackon of misinformation. and schiano is known as a huge douchebag. i've met him a few times and most importantly used to train dozens of the recruits he went after. they all said the same thing, douchebag. douchebag of immense proportions. theres a reason no real nj recruits went to rutgers and its bush league bullshit like that last play. reverse it, the giants go hard at freeman and someone rolls his ankle or breaks his leg or hand, still fair?

exactly. hundreds of millions of dollars on the field. seasons could end based on injuries that happen any play and when the game is over you go out to hurt someone? 3rd rate college coach will be a 4th rate nfl coach in no time flat.
 
oh if Freeman had been rolled up by center falling on his knees....nobody think for one fcking instant Schiano wouldn't have tried to start a fight. I'm amazed the Giants didn't start a brawl right then and there. If i was coughlin I might have cleared the bench to get out there. If he was younger he might have swung at Schiano after the game...it looked like he wanted to.

kneeling was not allowed, but pisarchick took a knee on the prior play (he did...go hunt for the video)??? you know an even better way to make sure no one gets hurt playing football?? don't play football...tom coughlin is a twat.

But in PROFESSIONAL football people are worth millions and that is just dirty bullshit college crap that has no business in the NFL. If schiano was SOOO concerned of winning he should have done it in the first 59 min & 56 sec. Not the last :04. Get a clue bro. Plz.

the rule was codified after that game, but, people still did it...someone from the opposing team just had to touch you "down" to finish the play before...now they don't have to...the play ends when the qb takes a knee.

i watched most of the game...they were very lucky...they let the peyton broncos hang around for waaaayyyyy to long and it almost came back and bit them in the ass...4 turnovers and you only come away with 10 points? not good.

Don't try to rain on my parade bro

They took their foot off the gas in the third and tried to run too much clock with Turner. Turner hasn't hit a crease in forever unless you could drive a truck through it. They could've stayed in the no huddle and picked up a coupe more first downs and it wouldn't have been so close. I'm glad Peyton didn't get another chance though. i probably would've beat my poor dog to death.
