Today was the best day

ive had in a very long time

i called home to tell my folks i was coming home tonight after shift to tie up some loose ends with bills etc,and my pops answers the phone,and we get to shooting the shit, then out of nowhere he tells me how proud of me he is and how he has been bragging about me to all his buddies at work.

mother fucker made me start to cry.

he has never said he was proud of me before,feels good to know he cares when he hasnt shown it for as long as i remember
 
today has been great,minus missing a workout,but i can make up for it tomorrow or sat.

im still shocked to have heard him say that,feelings just arent something men in my family discuss

Yeah :) I did all my crying 2 days ago when I saw her. The funeral is Monday, so I'm sure it will hit me again. I just know that she is through suffering now and she died in her sleep. The memories will always be there. My daughter didn't appear to miss a beat. She is her great grandmother. You know how teenagers can be. Just wanting to have fun all the time.

Isn't it amazing, when you're all growed up, your parents can still make you feel like a little kid again, sometimes.
Glad to hear your week ended on a high note.

Yep. The machines at work usually require a lot of babying after a week off. Not this time.

was rocky earlier in the week but things are better now,im heading home to my own bed for the night,started a cycle and have been tearing shit up in the gym. im pretty content

That's so amazing. My family never spoke much either so sometimes it was hard to know where you stood, but recently for the first time in all my life I called my mother for help - I had never asked my parents or anyone. And the best part was she was there for me just like I needed her to be. I felt so happy and blessed.

It is good to know that even in silence sometimes those thoughts of pride for a son or daughter and a willingness to do anything for them is a gift from above.
