1.) 12%

2.) 2 out of 100

That means that 2% of the Senate are black but blacks make up 12% of the national population.

Unless you believe that black people are genetically inferior to white people (which is not the case) then there is some sort of institutional discrimination at play.

That is why some scholarships are only for minorities...to make up for the disparity.

Wow. No response to Warik? C'mon 2thick, I was hoping for a good lashing. Now I might just have to go to bed so I can get up early. Fucking cardio

SAT scores show that in general whites do posess a higher level of reasoning. Im sure there are other figures that also suggest this. Same for minorities.

I am not a racist. I just think whites should have the same oppourtuniteys as other races.

What does this have to do with anything? How many blacks run for the Senate? How many blacks don't run against an impossible to defeat opponent?

Meaningless statistics that do not have remotely anything to do with discriminatory minority scholarships. Take them elsewhere.

(Note: I do not disagree with discriminatory minority scholarships that are privately funded. I do, however, disagree with publically funded discriminatory minority scholarships, which do exist, and with the fact that majority-only-type scholarships, privately funded or otherwise, would not survive more than a day.)

That is all.

If you look at the urban, densly-populated centers with large proportions of minorities, I would imagine the correlating House districts are filled by similar numbers of minorites. Just a thought.

These stats are very relevant. The senators represent the people in their respective states. This means that there is not equal representation.
