To be the world's finest... What craft would you revolutionize through your skillz?

I was leafing through a sports illustrated while waiting at opthalmologist, I need glasses bad... and noticed Tiger Woods was on the cover, I think we all are so acclimated to his dominance, it no longer is amazing... habituated on his revolutionizing the whole game of golf... anyway the next thought that was transmitted was, what it must be like to know that out of 6 billion people you are the best at your craft.

If you could have the impact that Tiger has had on golf, what field would it be in? I know for the artistic fields, one doesn't really dominate as they do in sports? Moreover some of the best musicians don't sell the most records either. However, I think they are recognized within the industry itself.

However, what field or craft would like to dominate even the elite. You would receive the recognition as one of the world's finest in your art or expertise.

What craft, vocation, form of self expression, would you want to earn the recognition as one of the world's finest?

I am a visual artist who works in many different disciplines, but I like to leave my *legacy* in the field of animation. For me, the labor of Lotte Reininger http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lotte_Reiniger
represents the epitome of old school, hand drawn feature animation. My intention is to not only become the first woman since her to complete such a task, but also to revolutionize the symbiosis between sound and image...hopefully with a flourish of camp.

art.

mainly glass.

EF poster, Dad, archery, karate, TF2, cheesecake chef

I'm only decent at one of those things today. :(

Holy shit... wow, you gave me a huge boost this morning... now I wanna see prince achmed... this has no solid relation, cause its not animation... but you remind me of the movie city of the lost children... which is one of my favorites... now I have to curb my overeager nature, so I don't wanna say anything stupid... you already blow me away with you and your sublime presence... I could not dig on your ideas any more... again not totally related, but have you seen the documentary on henry darger? You probably have, but you would absolutely love it... the current juncture that we find ourselves in this period so cries out for the type of artistry that you embody... Okay, it's to early to be this geeked up, gotta pull in the reigns...
thanks the brilliant post :artist:

Scuba diving...the thing is, there isn't much you can do by diving alone that would distinguish you as an elite diver outside of the dive community. Reaching milestones just for the sake of reaching milestones - in diving - is stupid, and reckless, and doesn't earn you respect or admiration. It earns you death, eventually, and a place in there "here's what NOT to do" books. However, recognition within the industry is very possible and it would be REALLY cool to be able to do something like identify an unknown wreck someday.

I've not seen City of the Lost Children, nor the Darger documentary, but Ron Perlman can pretty much make anything a masterpiece :).

It's totally ironic you mention Darger. I've not seen the documentary, but there are so many circumstances and instances in his life/art which parallel mine: Thematic; tornado, seven sisters. I'm pretty much a janitor. Aries~lol

Yeah, but would the people love you or hate you... I mean, I can barely take care of a dog... a nation... no... pass. The kewl thing is though you can establish whatever laws you want... my shit would be so corrupt though.
