Tired of this...

You sound a look like me. I gained 70 pounds in 2 years. I use to be crazy about working out, and ate low fat low calorie diets---but it drove me CRAZY. I wasn't working with my body at all.

This year I have lost 50 pounds of fat, and counting. I have changed my outlook on FITNESS, not weight loss/fat loss. 1,900 calories is NOT alot. If you are loosing 1 pound of fat a week, not only is that really good, its HEALTHY, and you will not be loosing all your hard earned muscle.

Never, never, never say "I need to drop this weight fast" because its not going to happen, unless you take a slash at your health.

If you are truly interested in changing your lifestyle, and want a healthy, steady way of loosing fat, let me know.

I have had almost every eating disorder you can imagine. I have struggled with my weight forever----started my first diet at age 8. I have tried everything "stupid" and 99% of the time, the stupid way of loosing fat is to expect it to come off fast.

You obviously don't have a fast metabolism, like myself. Please, rethink about working with your body and changing your ways. The fat comes off faster then you realize when you are ENJOYING your fitness lifestyle.

I can show you my before and after pictures as well. I have lost over 10 inches on my waist in 11 months.

I get to eat lots of food because my body is use to eating alot of food. the less food you eat, the less your body will burn. I take a "cheat" day every sunday, and I eat what ever I want, and how much I want----this keeps my metabolism working, and I get to enjoy different "bad" foods once a week.

Starving your body lean is painful and if your body is like mine, which it sounds like it is, almost impossible.

:)

thank u ssoooooo much...

OK...
So heres all my stats and stuff and i just need to kinda figure out this whole thing...like make a meal plan basically.... i dont mind eating the same thing for weeks at a time cause i thrive on routine and it will give me less reason to have food on my mind all the time if it has already been planned out for me....
Like i said i dont eat red meat so I am going with chicken, salad, tuna and protien shakes...
I am 170 lbs right now and 5'6....my bodyfat % is unknown but i am estimating around 25-27%... i feel so gross... :bawling:
i only have 12 more days left here at school so I am gonna try and make them good.....any help with desigingn this meal plan will be greatly appreciated!
thanx again!!!;)

Supergirl,

have you been to the women's forum? The ladies there are amazing - very knowledgable and helpful. Try and see what they will recommend.

Supergirl515,

You sound like me (20 years ago). I too had anorexia that backfired into bulimia. I gained 50 pounds my freshman year in college. I did everything imaginable to lose weight fast. Sometimes it worked, but in the end I'd gain it back. Years of therapy helped, and my weight eventually stabilized, but I still yearned for my old anorexic body.

So for 20 years I starved and cardio'd. I got thin, but it wasn't a good thin, just a weak frail thin. I did the high rep/low weight rountine "trying to tone" but it was a waste of time.

About 3 years ago, I decided to ditch the toning and train for strength. That's when the miracles started to happen. My body started to get hard and the bodyfat dropped. I did not get "big" like I'd always heard would happen from training with heavy weights. I did get a body beyond what I ever imagined.

My secret weapon was starting a training log. Because of my obsessive/compulsive nature, I was compelled to see my weights and reps improve. That's what finally got me to start eating better. I began to look at food as something that could help me rather than as something I must avoid or punish myself for.

Welcome to Elite Fitness. Many of the women here have recovered from eating disorders. Give yourself (and your body) time to adjust to changes in diet and training. Little changes add up. Quick results rarely last; lasting results take time.

Jen has done an incredible job this year and can serve as a great inspiration to you. You can do this but your really do have to focus on the journey, not the destination. Never beat yourself up over a bad day. Allow cheat days and do begin some weight training. It will speed your metabolism. Best of luck and keep us posted.
