Okay, I've researched this on the internet six ways from Sunday ... I don't want to deal with an ENT, mostly because I have no insurance. I'd like to eliminate ALL potential causes/options.
For the past month I have had this ringing in my ears ... sounds very much like when you clench your teeth together really hard, it's not pulsating, just a steady soft jingling. It's beginning to annoy me. It's most noticeable, obviously, when I'm in a quiet environment which is most of the time since I'm a transcriptionist I spend up to 8 hours a day listening to recorded conversation.
My blood pressure is normal, so that's one cause ruled out.
Okay here's my question:
1. Can it be a nutritional/supplemental deficiency issue? I have celiac and it causes intestinal flares periodically, so my absorption is less than idea.
2. Can it be alcohol related? Work has me stressed so I've been having a nightcap and frankly the alcohol isn't the top shelf stuff. If it IS alcohol, will it go away when I stop my nightly tipple?
3. Could it be my job? I don't listen to the tapes loud, just normal conversational levels, but I do listen every day, lately at least six days a week, no less than six hours a day.
4. Can it be hormone related?
5. OR, could it possibly be symptomatic of something?
Any and all ideas/suggestions would be appreciated. I'd prefer odd/obscure stuff.
I take a daily B-100 complex, and I've even supplemented with oral B12 on top of that and I'm sure I don't clench my jaw/grind my teeth in my sleep, and while I know I have mild TMJ, I only have it in one side and this is both ears.
Thanks!
