thread and post problems w/ the new program

what's he deal with the new posts not showing up and the old threads staying on for weeks when nobody has posted? anybody?....

I don't know. I've tried to familiarize myself with the new features and such but it is a little frustrating. I have no new subscribed threads either.

I hate when you post in a thread and the damn thread pops up showing your post. how do I get it to bring me back tot eh forum instead of showing me what I just posted?

Not sure if this happens to you guys...but when I K, the box shows up at the very bottom of the screen then Ihave to scroll up to send it to the person who is receiving it (this is not a cheap ploy to get k either)....lol

The new software doesn't do URLs and IMGs right either. For me, anything with a link posted after the upgrade, the links just show up as text that can't be clicked on. Have to copy and paste it into the address bar to see what it is.

That and the "subscribed threads" list is fucked.

I wish that someone in admin would at least COMMENT on these complaints, so that we'll know whether they're bugs or features.

Some acknowledgement, either "yeah we know, we're working on it" or "sorry, that's how vBulletin works now" or "sorry, that's what you get for being non-plat scum" would be a big help.

That's because you're not Plat. Seriously.

"Repost for the non-plats" is no longer going to be an option, either. If you don't want to be Plat, that's your choice; we're still going to be here and we're even giving you back Search again -- but anybody who's planning to whine about the features you don't get, save it.

We aren't going to pretend it doesn't matter to us whether you're Plat or not, because it does. We dropped a major chunk of capital bringing the boards up to date, and if you want to dance somebody has to pay the band.

The peek-a-boo K box is a known issue, it's on the skin developer's list. (It apparently worked in IE, not that I would ever suggest that someone actually USE that program).

I've seen the after-post behavior change a couple of times as the developers continue to tweak, so I'm not even going to guess what the final version will do. I kind of like seeing my post at the end of the thread before I move on, it's not like I'm in a post-whore frenzy to mark my territory on yet another thread; but I can understand the desire to have a choice.

Oh, and the crowns come back as soon as you move to another thread. Geez, chill a little.

When you say IE...I take it you mean Internet Explorer. I here about FireFOx...is that the shit or what? I have never used it or seen it.

Thanks Digger. What about the Subscribed threads problem? I had 70 something threads in my subscription box and I took the time to delete them all. Now when I post in a new thread it is either hit or miss if the thread shows in the subscription box or not.

I prefer that, myself. I know Elite has traditionally operated the other way, but all other message boards, regardless of subject, bring you back to the thread instead of the index. Besides, I like to see my post, to (1) confirm that it posted, and (B) to check for any mistakes I may have missed when writing it.

Thanks, but you could have explained that a week ago, instead of making us figure it out for ourselves. As I said above, it's hard to tell when something is a bug or a feature if no one will tell us. How about a comprehensive list of what works for whom?

AND, and, it would be nice to have a sticky to explain all the new features, I see all those icons by my platty sig, but I have no clue as to what they are or why they're supposed to be "cool".
Why not create a sticky to explain, that way I too can enjoy them. I did figure out the new embed thing all by myself, felt some sence of accomplishment there....
