Thoughts on routine

Am looking at changing up my routine after 6 months on the same one.

What are peoples thoughts on the following:

Day 1 - Chest and Bi
Day 2 - Back
Day 3 - REST
Day 4 - Shoulders and Tris
Day 5 - Legs
Day 6 - REST

Goals are to increase muscle mass by adding lean gains. CV being done 3 times a week alongside abs

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Do HIIT after working out opposed to straight running. (I been doing this and liking it)
Eat well, Plenty of protein(1.75-2.0g per 1lb LBM)
Balance of carbs and fat intake, low sodium.

Routine looks good, care to go into more detail about it?

the only problem i see is that you are working back out the day after BIs. When you work back, you work BIs. I would suggest

Chest Bi
Legs
Off
Shoulders
Back Tri

or put tri with shoulders, either way.

I used to never work bis b4 back but have been doing it that way this whole routine and been getting great results.

if you want real help and not some b.s split i suggest using the search option, and reading the training info vault. also provide us with pics stats training history...

Why does everyone train their legs last in the week? I don't get this. If you were serious about gaining lean mass or whatever then your first exercise of the week should be squats. You should probably finish that Squat workout by doing an eyeball blood vessel busting set of 20.

Same reason why everyone thinks training legs twice a week is forbidden and squats and deads on the same day is a mortal sin.

Most ppl rest at the weekend that's why they think it's better leave leg training to fridays. I think they should be done Monday or Tues with a fucking 20 reps squats knockout at the end and place back routine two days later.

Twisted my ankle recently, I wish I could squats but I guess i've to be patient...

lol

I train 3 times a week. I alternate two routines. Every other week I have "Quads" twice in that week. I always finish my "Quads" with a 20+ rep set. These aren't quick light weight high rep fluff sets either. These are stopping at 5 reps to breath, beat red and shaking at 10, then doing singles with three or four breathes between reps until I hit 20. I usually collapse in the rack after the set. These are making me thick all over and are unbelievable at increasing appetite. If more people would train their legs heavy and often a lot less of them would wear pants to the gym year round.

gotta love that DC Training huh, southern lord?
ive done that shiot b4 and loved it. amazing strength gains.
u knw people cant do that style of training unless they are experienced and knw what they are doing

I agree and I have never recommended it to anyone on here. It is not for the weekend warrior or inexperienced. Not that I am an elite bodybuilder, but I have paid some dues.

That's what I call hardcore!

Last week this one guy was doing "half-squats" and he had a spotter, with a weight he could barely tolerate while standing. I tell you, once he got a little lower than the quarter of a full squat it was his and his spotter ass all over the floor... LOL it was kinda of funny but some dangerous shit.

Hey usually I also have 2 routines and alternate them 3 times a week so in 2 weeks I've trashed the all body 3 times. I got this from Dorian Yates early years when he wasn't towards Mike Mentzer's Heavy-Duty.

There is this one guy at my gym who does similar stuff. He is a nice guy and he has a fairly well built upper body but no legs. He was in the smith with two plates per side wearing knee wraps and a belt. I swear to you he was not even getting to quarter squat depth. I am assuming he has flexibility issues or something because I would be embarrassed to be seen doing such a movement.

Yeah this guy is also very nice, polite, great upper body, but wears pants all the time so is hard to say. He is very lean so my guess is he risks heavy loads, because even if he doesn't go real low, his body will produce the hormones ilicit to heavy squats training, I think.

I workout at a new york sports club, it's not my idea of a perfect gym but it does the trick. Anyway everytime I do deep squats, deadlift, power clean and push press:eyes:, most trainees look at me, cluelessly, like i'm a fucking alien :eyes: :eyes: :alien: :eyes: :eyes:
