I know this sounds like a pussy-ass thing to do, but due to the fact that I am bigger than I ever have been before, and for whatever reason the other 1 or 2 AAS users leaving my gym, I'm one of the bigger guys...probably 2nd or 3rd biggest if you only count those with under 10% bodyfat.

Now, I used to talk to no one, and I guess most people assumed I was around 23-24, but now that I work at GNC I see a lot of people from my gym, and word has gotten out that I am only 19...now lately I have had a fair amount of 17-25 y/o come up and ask me "what are you on" blah blah...normally I tell them I couldnt possibly detail out my nutrition and supp routines and have to keep my time schedule....

Now in about 5-6 weeks, I will be starting my 2nd moderate bulk cycle where I expect to put on around 10-15 of actual muscle, without much fat gain if any. (test/liquidex)...

I don't know how the hell I am going to pass this off as simple changes in diet and training but we shall see.... actually through the course of writing this post and getting my thoughts together I do not believe I will switch gyms but I also prefer to avoid attention and keep to myself for the most part but we shall see what happens...I suppose if I truly did detail out my routines for someone as I have in the past they would still be impressed enough and believe what I have to say....

(Note, my gym is the type that would probably revoke my membership if they really thought I was on AAS.)

No gym is going to revoke your membership under such a circumstance, thats ridiculous. Don't leave your gym for such a petty reason. In 1 year, half of those people at your gym wont even be in the same city, who cares what people say or think. Stay at your gym and show everyone in that bitch how shit should be done. peace

Yeah you're probably right....I think that I would be blacklisted and I dont need the shit, but yeah they probably wouldn't actually revoke my membership.... I will stay, only other reaosn I was considering it is because I'm starting to outgrow some of the machines, for example the cable pulldown, I'm doing 230 and it goes up to only 240-250 etc..

If your out growing a machine, then choose an alternative or perform a set in a more methodical fashion. Could you do 230 for a slow set of 15 perfect reps? See, what I mean. peace big dawg

True, but I prefer not to exceed 8 reps max in a set....from what I've read, (and I have done a fair amount of reading on this topic)...the optimal rep range for overload is 4-8, combined with proper volume is how to achieve not only growth but muscle maturity and density...but I agree that eventually there has to be a compromise, in 10 years I dont expect to be doing pulldowns w/ 500lbs of course, but I think I'm still small enough to where focusing on increased weights is my best bet for growth..

What are you preferred rep ranges Havoc? It probably varies so let's just say back out of curiousity.

I think if you are going to have a set of 4 - 8 on any exercise, then just have no more than 2 sets with that rep range. In my experience I prefer heavy, heavy weight with rep ranges of 12 - 20. For example, when I was 19 I could dumbell military press the 100's for a solid set of 8 reps. Now at 25 I do 2 sets of 20 reps with the 100's, these sets do a hell of alot more for me than doing the 130's for 8 reps for example and my joints, ligaments and previous worked bodyparts appreciate this more, therefore, my entire body is getting along with each other and saying "thanks havoc, now I'll grow for you some more". I had your mind state , and its not incorrect, I do what works for me, and that is what is important.
Another example would be squats, sure I could go up to 500 plus, but for what, so my back, hips, knees, etc could be in pain, forget that, so I'll stick with 405 for 12 reps, then 315 for 25 reps, squats are done in 2 sets and engorged with blood. Heavy weight and more reps is a wonderful collaboration. peace Frack

Yes...I think we are agreeing here....once I get to the point of doing serious weight, ie, 100lb dumbell presses for 8, (I can only do the 80's for about 7 right now) than I will follow a similar situation...for example, partially because of my back but mainly because this works better, I prefer to do 20 rep breathing squats with a lighter weight such as 250 as of my last session (I know that's weak) because I don't get serious stimulation from a 4-6 range and my joints just are not happy with that either, but I do do mix it up and use a 4-6 rep range for exercises after squats such as front squats (Smith)...anyway you make good points..thanks.

I agree with you, and the weight your using is not weak, don't ever say that, weight doesnt amount to shit in this game, its a science. peace

What gym are you at? Most of the gyms in that area have a ton of users. I have a buddy that works out at 24hr fitness and he gets those question alot.

I personally don't like headphones, but people don't talk to you if you have them on...just a thought

btw: what are your stats?

you better be pretty god damn big to be asking such a silly question like this man. god damn, you should see some of the guys at my gym...fucking monsters. oh yeah, instead of worrying about outgrowing machines, why not stick to free weights?
