I haven't seen it in probably 3 years. TNT just showed it. It never received much attention in the box office, but I can't think of a more powerful movie I've seen. Rarely can a movie draw me in, make me think, and bring me damn near to tears. In a nutshell its about 3 guys who spent a summer in Malasia. Two went back to the states while one stayed. The one who stayed got busted for havin a shitload of hash. In order to avoid their friend receiving the death penalty, the two had to come back and serve time. There was some knock-off done a little while later about 2 chics in a similar situation. It was shit compared to this one. Incredible movie.

Good thought strongchick. Honestly, I think I would have gone back. I'm not saying I would have been like 'sure, what the hell', but unlike many people, I still value human life. Especially the life of someone I consider a friend.

So let's try to turn this thread into a "what would you do??"

"Return to Paradise" was a great movie. The scene that shows the Joiquin Phoenix character being hanged, is haunting. "Look at me! Look at me! You are loved! Look at me"!

It gives me goose bumps thinking about it.

i love joaquin phoenix. something about him...as the asshole in Gladiator, I still liked him.

Anyway....what would I do? I would HAVE to go back..I couldn't live with myself. But not if I had children...they would come first. But wait....I'd want to set a good example for them...geez. hard decision.
