Well my first bike i have now was from a dealer and came with 90 day warranty. Is there anything i should ask or look for to at least make sure im not getting a POS in disguise?

Press the forks down and let them rise and check for oil around the inner tube.
Mileage- over 42k you should ask for a price drop (above average according to KBB)
check for oil on the bottom of engine covers at the seal.
Listen for noisy Valves clicking when its run and softly revved.
check the drive belt for cracking and rounded teeth or the chain sprockets for curved shark fin look, or chain for kinks and rust.

and You have to get the NADA guide and KBB values of the stock bike, then you will have a concrete base to start your haggling. Even though it is a custom.
I checked and the stock retail value for the 1600cc is $3500 to $4000.
I wouldn't pay over $4000- $$4800 for her just because of resale value.

and check the VIN at the DMV before you buy.
