Harley-Davidson dives on chopped guidance- MSN Money

I hope Harley tells it's shareholders to suck it, obviously they wont' but they should. Harley is doing a partial rebranding during a fucking recession and they should...except their shareholders don't like the lower margin bikes they're gonna be producing more of for a few years till higher end demand comes back. What's the problem with that? If i had stock in Harley I'd be happy their doing that cause it means they're properly positioning themselves in a changing market which means they're not going anywhere. Cowtowing to their shareholders at this point in time could collapse the company in a few years but do people on wall street care? No, they want theirs and they want it now.....and how another american brand goes down. And more manufacturing jobs lost.

A Harley isn't a means of transportation. It is a fashion statement and a visible expression of an (alleged) lifestyle.

Shrinking gross margins in the fashion business can be disastrous.

Incorrect market analysis. Harley's already folded up once before, they're trying to ensure it won't happen again. Don't ride do you?

No, Harleys are for rednecks. Mustang 5.0's are a fashion statement... and an indicator of a reckless abandon attitude.

Harleys are nice once you've put 5-10k into em or just get the SE customs which will run you a fair chunk. I just don't like em stock, at all. I used to work for a Harley dealership that also owned a Victory dealership down the street. They used the VIctory storage facility to winter all the Harleys so I was back and forth between the two alot. I always like the Victories better, like way better.
