why is it when I dont work out for a couple of days i feel so small and weak...and this is after only 4 days off. Second question. Im in between memberships and am tryin to save up money for a new one. What would you guys do in the mean time to keep up where you were. Damn it sux being poor. :coffee:

Diet is crucial during time off. Most people think it's downtime so pig out. If you want to keep muscle keep eating protein -- maybe more than usual. Do some cardio as well.

As for the feeling weak, maybe you aren't sleeping enough. After two days off, I feel as though I want to stab a puppy I'm so ready to go back to the gym. Get your diet and sleep down if you don't have it down already and see what happens. Although, once I do go back after a while, it's harder getting back into it once you begin to workout.

I never take 4 days off in a row. At most, 2. But I always feel strong everytime I get into the gym.

Actually, there have been studies that show that you start losing strength within 2 weeks of not using it.

haha.I wanna stab puppies...Ive been trying to do pushups and the such but I feel like I cant get a good enough workout that way...Luckily my friend works at a golds gym and he is gonna see if he can get me a good deal cuz im EFFIN broke..haha. It sucks when you dont lift you feel 'loose' not as tight..I do see my self lifting more when I get back cuz im extremely rested...I dunno.

Dude, friends at gyms = free in my experiences. need to tell that dude to just walk in with you or something, or make buddy buddy with the front desk.

actually I think the girl at the front desk wants to bang him sooo...hopefully it works out...the only thing is the managers office is right across the hall and when you go there you have to give them a number to get in..

Here's a trick to overcome that 'false' weak feeling. Seeing as allot of things are relative, because you havn't lifted anything near the level you do in the gym, your mind and body becomes reaccustomed to normal life - result being you feel weaker. To overcome, you need to train the area you feel weak in for a heavy-weight 3 reps, one set only (after stretching) each day you feel weak.

Your second question, you use a regular back pack and stuff it with an appropriate weight, feet on bed, pack on back and do press-ups off the floor. If its too easy, push hard and high enough to clap inbetween each rep. Also get a chin-up bar you can mount inbeteen the door frame for lats. Grab some dumbells and do jump squats as high and explosive as you can for quads, glutes, hams. Use bodyweight + dumbell for one legged calve raises. Crunches with dumbells for stomach, and shrugs with the dumbells.

Good luck!

really good advice...I just got a mental pic though..haha I live in a basement apt with low ceilings and Im almost 6' tall I could just imagine doing explosive jump squats..haha ....Ill have to do'em outside..thanks bro. good advice.
