Authorities break up ring that bought, sold AIDS drugs
HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) — Authorities have broken up a smuggling ring that bought AIDS medications from drug users, sometimes in exchange for heroin, and sold them to wholesalers who stocked pharmacy shelves with the potentially damaged medicine.
The alleged ringleader, Alberto Castane, 34, was charged Thursday with leading a narcotics trafficking organization and several drug and weapons offenses. Four other people — including his girlfriend and his brother — also face drug charges related to the ring, said Mike Mordaga, chief of detectives for the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
Castane allegedly employed dozens of runners to stake out New York City clinics where intravenous drug users received free kits of AIDS medications that were distributed weekly by Medicaid, Mordaga said. When the drug users emerged from the clinics, they were offered $200 or a packet of heroin in exchange for pills and vials that were later sold for thousands of dollars on the black market, authorities said.
Mordaga said Castane sold Serostim — a growth hormone used to treat AIDS patients with severe weight and muscle loss — to bodybuilders in area gyms, while other drugs were shipped to wholesale distributors in Florida and California. Those distributors then funneled the medication back to pharmacies for sale to unsuspecting victims.
The ring was operated from apartments where authorities found $4.5 million in AIDS medications stacked in boxes and shoved in refrigerators.
Investigators also seized a handgun, three cars, $500,000 in Ecstasy pills and an undetermined amount of crystal methamphetamine during raids there this week.

Probably around 2 grams actually. That's about the equivellent in heroin street value to 200 dollars. Otherwise, why not just take the $200.00 and buy the friggin heroin. Either way, the aggravating circumstances in this case will almost certainly warrent the Federal Prosecutors to seek the maximum penalty. Even to me, the way they went about their business was sleazy. Temp them with a drug they are obviously addicted to, or the cash to go out and buy it, in exchange for HGH kits. Talk about kicking people when they are down.

yeah, i have a friend who is going to put the word out at the local AID's clinic that he will give cash or coke for HGH kits since he wants some. i was like 
that is some crazy shit! same guy knows another dude who's girlfriend steals a kit here and there from patients (she is a nurse somewhere) and gives them some placebo shot. now that is especially fucked up!

yeah, i had to ask twice to be sure what he said was what i heard. i was shocked. really messed up. GH is causing some crazy shit to go down due to its price. people will do anything to get it, or to get something for it.

Wheher Palumbo talked about it or got busted himself wasn't going to matter adn isn't the issue here. Palumbo's actions are independent and have noithing at all to do with this ring.
I guess if you need an excuse and are looking to rationalize your use/position, then you will play 'the blame game'. Many AS users have the same traits other drug users have. It seems that everyone is trying to rationalize and justify their position one way or another. I think that is where most of the somilarities end between AS users and rec. drug users.
Blaming Palumbo is ridiculous. People that blatantly break the law and fuck up will eventually get caught and go down. Street dealers never retire. They almost always get busted first.

This crap has been going on for years as I knew a guy who was getting seros, Upjohn's, Delatest's, Deca and BTG's from a couple of AID patients for pennies on the dollar and such and reselling it....bad news...

Good points Jason Strong. I didn't mean to sound 'anti-bodybuilding or sound dogmatic either. I 'use' myself, but the point is don't lose sight of some basic principles of what is right and wrong. Sometimes the line gets blurred. That happens for many people; it's human nature.
