This board is bullshit!!!!

No more ALA / creatine / protein powder / ProHormone threads in the anabolic area - MODS should immediately move these suppliments discusions to the suppliment area.

I think it's lazy housekeeping first and foremost

Also. it always seems boring when FONZ is not around, he always has something interesting to post insuring lively debate
Well, your comments are hipocritical at best. One statement you say we are lazy housekeepers and the next say fonz posts good stuff (which he does of course) but dont forget a few of the best threads lately by fonz were about ala.

This is an Anabolic Board. Period.
I agree but lets look back to last night as an example of what a mod has to deal with and the backlash of a moved/locked or deleted post. Last night there was a little episode where someone called another member out. I saw it as childish and off topic and locked the thread. Next the person who was attacked started his own thread in rebuttal. I tried to stear the thread down a somewhat educational yet off topic path but it fell on deaf ears so I locked it. Next we have someone else chiming in about the threads I locked with further insults. I replied and locked it only to spur on another thread asking if personal opinions werent allowed etc, it was just his way of trying to be a tough ass and showing everyone he will stand up to a mod, even if he has no point to make.

If we locked/deleted/moved every thread that should be it would likey triple traffic and that traffic would all be bullshit posts about why a thread got locked or deleted.

The main reason a lot of the old mods and guru's dont post here anymore is because the vets of yesteryear have been replaced by guys with 4000 posts who do nothing put piss and moan, dont follow the rules, make snide comments, insult newbies and the list goes on. These people are setting the tone for the board which a lot of new members follow. If the user base wants someone to blame for the current condition of the board, take a long hard look in the mirror.

I agree that there are a lot of B.S. threads (hell, i've had a couple) and these need to be kept to a minimum. A little humor is good though - it doesn't always have to be so serious.

As for "newbies" giving advice, granted some people just repeat info they see someone else say and some don't know what the hell they are talking about, but just because some of us are fairly new to THIS BOARD doesn't mean we all are ignorant and unexperienced. I have experienced a few things concerning AAS in my life and I will give advice on related topics. I never try to give advice I'm unsure of. Others need to do the same.

Using the search button sucks ass sometimes. Granted just about anything you want to know you can find, but the search function is slow as crap. And the more people we have, the slower it gets.

Overall this is an excellent board IMO.

Couldnt agree more Zyg, since I've been coming back to this board I see all these guys that signed up a month or two ago and have 5000 posts. Not that some don't have some useful knowledge, but its just become a post race to comment on or bump everything to get their totals up. I believe it should be based on how long you've been here and how much useful knowledge you've donated. Thanks

I've been saying over and over--- Do not answer newbie questions! All we have to do is refer newbies to the search engine a few times and they will learn.. But no.. What do we do? We answer their question.. Andy

I TOTALLY agree with you on that one! The worst part about it
is you have newbie's answering other newbies. It's all a big
game to these idiot's. They want to have the most post's or
the most karma. These fuckheads think it's a videogame or
some shit.

I guess if you dont like this board, there is no reason to come here. This is a free country, and you can easily start your own message board. The software is free, and you can probably find a very cheap hosting service as well, so there's no need to complain.

I just registered at AnabolicFitness. I'm waiting for approval from the Administrator just to see how great it is, like you said. But in my opinion, it probably sees the same amount of bullshit this place does.

AF like many of the smaller board has very little if any bullshit. I give em props for running a tight ship and post there as well.

This board simply has HUGE amounts of traffic, easily 5-10 times that of any other board and any time you have that much traffic and that many people comming together you are going to have differences in opnion etc.

This is the reason I did what I did last night.. even though I regret it and frankly I don't know why I posted that in the first place..

I just try to spend a lot of time answering the questions a choose to answer rather than shooing off someone with a capitalized snide response.. It's not fair to the newbies...

Sorry for the post last night guys, guess it shows my age.. I'm a 21 yr old kid lashing out at my demons from bieng bullied in high school and carrying around 33% bodyfat, but at least I try to help when I can

I generally consider myself as pretty level headed and thick skinned but I still lose my cool on occasion as does everyone.

As a mod though, I can tell you it sucks being in the middle because we have to be the bad guys and delete/lock threads, however in doing so we are often looked donw upon as being nazi's for stiffling free speach and in turn while simply trying to do our jobs (unpaid volunteer jobs I might add) we end being ridiculed and spur on even more useless garbage threads which in turn piss even more people off. We are damned if we do and damned if we dont.

Having siad all that I would like to reiterate that the tone and maturity of this board is not just the responsibility of the mods (after all, we can only do so much) but the responsibility of all the members as well. If you dont like what you see, set an example for others to follow.

I didn't read this whole thread, so I may be repeating some ideas here.

I do think that there are alot of wasteful BS post on this board. When you've got the best board around, word gets out and everyone wants a piece. Unfortunately, not everyone has a brain.

First let me say that the "Anabolic Discussion Board" should be pretty open for a wide variety of topics.

There are a couple ways we should start handling BS posts.

#1 - *If it's a stupid question, answer it or direct the person to an answer.
*Politely explain that such questions are a waste of space in this forum.
*After that one reply, no one else reply (or flame) - let that sucker drop into oblivion.

#2 - If it's an inflammatory post or an obvious prankster, DO NOT REPLY - let that sucker drop into oblivion.

#3 - Debate is great. Flaming is a waste of space.

#4 - I do think mods should take a greater role in removing wasteful threads as they start - while taking the time to contact the poster to explain why the thread was removed, the point of the board, and the role of the search function.
