Where can i start finding out information on this? as far as suppliers? start up costs? anyone in this business, guidance would be appreciated! There are only 2 supp stores in my area and they suck...good prices...but i know it can be more...i've been wanting to do this since i was 18 or at least a dream i guess...any help or info?

so you are going to somehow take business away from cheaper, already existing sellers?

well i wouldnt say cheaper...they are cheaper in comparison to the 2...but can be cheaper.

research the distribution, make sure you can even get in... if they are tight with their dist... they won't sell to you and you'll have to bully your way in... it will suck.

Typically a distributor won't give you a "cheap rate" unless you walk in (like these stores did) with an order for say $200,000 worth of products for your new store.

Joe walking in from the street with fresh new business license will probably get a whopping 10% off for orders of 1-100.

Unless you get creative, and call around, and find some distributor or place in Tulsa, OK where you can snag your stuff cheap.

But for the most part -- the "all in one place for all your health store needs" distributor won't give you much of a break. It's not really worth much of their time spending resources, time, labour, etc. for the $25-$100 profit you might get them a month. They like to keep the client list down to a minimum, and huge clients at that. Which pretty much entails only retail shops.

At least that's the corporate philosophy from most of the non-computer distributors i've worked with.

Then again, you're scant on details on how you plan on doing this -- so can't dictate any advice beyond this.

You have to analyze the costs of many different things:
Equipment costs
Initial Inventory
Working capital
Backup cash
Labor (if you're not going to work yourself)
