CT: assuming you have a competent piercer; u will experience intense pain, but it is over in a nano-second. i would suggest a weekend or so of quiet time at home, as it does weep for a few days after the initial piercing. some peeps don't even notice it on you, depending on the size of the PA and their own internal plumbing.
