think ive been overtraining

my gains have drastically stopped all of a sudden and im in fact losing weight. mentally im having a hard time trying to cut back on the sets/exercises and its tough as hell.

somehow ive ended up doing 5 exercises/4 sets ea. for big muscle groups and 4 exercises/4 sets ea. four smaller ones.

just the fact that im losing weight now is making it even harder to try and cut back. any words of wisdom? maybe im not overtraining just being a pussy?
 
Could be that you need a little break, other possibilities are that you may be stressed out about something, or have an infection or some other medical problem. Did you go off of a cycle recently?
Any major lifestyle changes lose or get a new job? Break up with your girl? Good luck bro.:)
 
bro you're overtraining. you are doing doing 20 sets for big muscles and 16 for small ones, that's way too much. i do 12-13 sets for big muscles tops and 8-9 sets for smaller ones. cut back on your training, change the speed of the reps( do them slower concentrating on the negative), and watch your form. don't be afraid to lower the weight to correct a movement if you need to.
 
You could be doing too much. When was the last time you took a week off? My advice is to take a week off and re-evaluate your diet. Bump up the cals and red meat. Train 4-5 days a week, that's it!!
 
Take a week off. Best thing I have ever done. Keep your calories up (for me bodyweight * 15). When you return training, try keeping your total sets between 8-12, training 3-4 times a week. Focus on Squats, Deads, Bench, Chins, and Military. You'll gain good weight.
