It's always fun to read your regurgitated Rachel Maddow talking points. It just illustrates the problems with our public educational system that still functions on the Prussian model of creating factory workers and bureaucrats. In a classical educational system a child would learn the basics and then progress to critical analysis by the time they were in jr high and then progress to questioning the professor by the time they were a teen. Unfortunately, in our system a college graduate most likely hasn't progressed beyond stage two of teh educational system and even the POTUS, lauded by the media as the smartest president ever, hasn't progressed to stage three of intellectual development. You can give a Marxist an ivy league education but you can't make him think...

In the last decade there has been one chick I've been head over heels for and her name starts with an M. Our first date was church, followed by hot wings at jeds (a local sports bar), a long walk at Wildwood (local park) and a movie at the dollar theater( "Little Miss Sunshine"); We both still have the movie stub.

It would be wise to not comment on other peoples feelings unless they have confided in you.

I never got into Twilight I think it retarded same with all the other crappy vampire shows movies etc... This from a girl that watched newlyweds ;)

me too, QT, me too. I have zero interest in zombies, vampires, etc. Why is this shit to popular? It's stupid to me.
I did like LOTR Trilogy though. But, not Harry Potter.

ok....now, this season of the walking dead was an unmitigated disaster. My only hope is that this was a filler season they wrote up to extend the series after it was apparent it was going to be popular. Although the exit of two of the main characters does make me wonder.

Last nights episode finally got things rolling...but it was still retarded. Fuck me the whole season emo Glen, who was badass in season 1 getting rick out of the tank, was freezing up at every turn. Last night...dude was instapopping noobs while hanging out of a truck doing 40mph down a country road. Heck all of em were, and being "pinpoint"..wtf is that? Flawless headshots all around. Please.

And then....that fucking wife of Ricks, they should have written that character off at the beginning of the season becuase it's just a hot mess. She spends the entire season hinting to Rick that he may have to "deal" with Shane. So the dude finally gets a gun pointed in his face, handles his business like a boss....and when he tells his twattish little wife about it she recoils from him like he's some kind of monster. He just got done explaining to her how Shane pointed a gun in his face, Darryl and Glen had already backed up Rick by telling everyone Shane lied about getting caught by the kid they had tied up. So wtf is with this woman? Utterly terrible character devlopment. And now they're trying to turn Rick heel...wtf?

And wtf was with the Gimplord there at the end with Andrea? You telling me that just cutting off two walkers arms and chaining em to you makes em tame? They won't still try to attack you if you just cut their arms off? Gimme a break. Gimpmaster better be some Lord Humongous type mother fucker for me to be even remotely interested in this new character development.

Eastbound and Down recovered marvelously from a rather mediocre at best 2nd season....so I'll give this a shot. But I see Glenn do anymore of his emo shit next year and i'm turning it off.
 
knot true. i didn't get married til 24. she is a great wife, i couldn't imagine life with anyone else.
 
It was decent. Left a good setup for next season. I hope they won't spend the whole thing holed up in that prison though. Half a season there tops before they have to keep headin on.

I'm watching it again, I didn't read the comic, but from what I've watched and read on other forums keeping Shane around kinda retarded the development of Rick and Carl...

I try to not be petty about weapons in TV and movies but Hershel belting out 20+ rounds from a Remington 870 without reloading was ridiculous. Likewise, the ninja zombies that ate Patricia were also over the top..she was a red shirt in the series but she was also a character. I think the writers did a good job by eliminating the cartoonish Dale and Shane antagonists vying for Rick's soul as the devil and angel on his shoulder; The "this isn't a democracy anymore" speech indicates there will be some real character development.

P.S. On other forums some people were defending Lori's reaction to Rick killing Shane because she "lost it" after she learned that Carl put the Shane zombie down...IMO, my first instinct was right when I watched it the first time. Lori tried to console Rick about the Jenner revelation but watch her reaction as the scene progresses... She obviously loved Shane...maybe more than Rick.

That was Michonne that saved Andrea...She's VERY popular with the comic fans...we'll see how it transitions to cable tv writing.

I'm a big fan of the zombie genre and George Romero...The zombies aren't the point, they're a storytelling obstacle; The real story is about the people, much like LOTR. The Walking Dead does a good so far....It's worth picking up the rental for the first season and then decide; If you and Chris hate it then I'll pony up some k....I'm pretty good with judging entertainment...You and QT will like it...:)

Dooode...first off, you must realize that this is a zombie soap opera. Yeah it kinda sucks but that's the angle they're going with. So Glen's never been laid before or lovey dovey etc. and he's going to lose his edge. Annoying character development, but you know he'll snap out of it next season after the next rude awakening.

Next, it's pretty apparent that Rick's wifey still had some feelings for Shane. (Remember back in the first episode of the series how horned up she was with him, and any thought of her hubby was no closer in her mind than in a zombie's.) All males should know wiminz habit of saying one thing and feeling another.

Thirdly, those paraplegic walkers....there's def. something else going on with them that they conveniently left hangin til next season. The hooded master looked like a boss with some crazy tricks up his/her sleeve.

I just hope season three keeps up the pace, at least like the first did. If they're gonna be holed up in that fortress for even half a season there better be some wild shit going down at least every other episode.

lmao. Yeah I started to facepalm and laugh in disbelief there, like "Please, please reload already...?...re...reload dammit!!!" There are certain parts of the show where the director really seemed to be sleeping at the switch. That was definitely one of them.

Well the boy and Chris started watching Season 1 on Netflix and I couldn't sit through more than 10 mins. Chris and Billy like it. I find it stupid. Not my kind of tv
 
The hooded chica with the Katana is Michonne. Those two zombies on chains? Her boyfriend and his best friend. Arms and lower jaws removed. Awesome.


Side note, all the women in this show are annoying as fuck. Want to slap them all. And Carl.

Andrea aka "ape face" is actually the only one that does ANYTHING. She got less annoying with the season finale.

The unlimited ammo shotgun pissed me off, but we did see some awesome drive by zombie shoot out footage. I want to play that scene as a video game.

It will be interesting to see how the show deals with Michonne , the governor and the prison as compared to the comic...kinda dark for basic cable. Glenn making head shots from a moving vehicle at night without any firearms training...

Yeah, if it follows the comic it will get real dark. Governor does some sick shit so I don't see that happening. They'll PG13 it, for sure.

The helicopter in the finale and the fact the governor has been cast, David Morrissey ,means they are taking that direction and we'll see.

Morissey is a good cast for the governor....Comic fans can disagree about story arcs but the the production values and story have been well managed for basic cable...after all, the finale registered the highest ratings for any basic cable tv series ever...

That part sucks cuz I started off watching an action series.

Damn drama.

However, the drama allows me to force my wife to watch it and enjoy it :)

A poster on roamers and lurkers made a "Walking Dead is racist" post..partially about t-dog being named t-dog and being a stereotype but mostly about Michonne having two black zombies chained to her...He was set set straight about the Michonne thing by the comic fans, she's black and the two zombies are her ex-boyfriend and his friend.

On a side note, the actress that plays Maggie played Bella on Supernatural..I didn't recognize her.
