The US is impossible...

So I drove to the US border today to see about getting a NAFTA Visa to work in Virginia...and to no avail I got denied! The senior officer was kinda rude to begin with! He laughed in my face since my profession does not appear on the NAFTA list of occupations. I almost cried.

He changed his tune after I explained the process of bad information I have recieved over the past month trying to obtain a Visa. He became much more sympathetic to the fact that I am just doing what we have been told by the Employment Commission. He offered to talk to my future employer to help us figure things out.

Then they had to document my reason for being there and finger print me. It was a little upsetting - I felt like I was a criminal being sent back to Canada!
Digital photos, fingerprints, height, weight, copies of my passport, driver's license, inform them if I have any tatoos!

I can understand after 9/11, they need to take precautionary measures now. Now whenever I cross the border they are gonna think I am trying to go to work as an illegal alien!

Sad that you try to do things the proper way and they send you in circles! I've heard of people just leaving the country and working illegally and they live happy lives! But I guess there may be consequences right?! I wouldn't wanna chance it.

just do some proper research. make sure you do all your homework and you won't have problems. If you're not fit for a visa, you're not fit. Nothing the officer can do. He has no choice but to deny you.
