Lol @ Java subscribing to this "childhood trauma" and trying to rationalize with himself how he being as big of a creep and a psycho as Elliot Rodger is somehow acceptable.
Elliott Rodger had a superiority complex just like Java. Then, he was torn between that complex and reality, which was that he was a sadistic, lonely pervert who rationalizes violence against women.

My only issue is that I'm not sure I can believe anything he wrote due to the fact that his perception was more than likely extremely distorted and warped with hate twisting the people in his life into evil characters or just projections of his own self so I'm not sure if what we read did actually happen that way though it did seem pretty matter of fact about the earlier years of his life. Just don't see how someone could get to the point he was at.
But it doesn't even matter. Even if this isn't true, the things I read are becoming more commonplace. We have divorce, materialism, unplanned pregnancies, extreme lack of empathy and coldness, a general disregard for their own biological child's needs to pursue their own shallow and empty ambitions; basically pathologically self-absorbed people raising kids here.

Well, it's only going to get worse as all these liberals and "free thinkers" continue to dissolve the perception of the importance of the most fundamental and key unit in society, which is the family, ideally with a mother and a father.
Gay marriage, adultery and subsequent divorce, fornication causing single parent births and unmarried couples without commitment to reach other, etc destroy that ideal and the result often is ill-raised children and a society consisting of screw ups and maladjusted people.
Society teaches our children that these things are perfectly normal and acceptable, and anyone who says otherwise or disagrees is a hateful, intolerant, judgemental bigot. The world today is a very screwed up place.

But, that's a far stretch from cheating on a wife, or having children out of wedlock, gay marriage, etc. that teaches children that all the wrong things should be accepted as normal and acceptable.
It's been stated by many, even non-religious scientists, that the most ideal situation for a child to be raised in is in a family with a mother and father who are committed to each other.
Society teaches the exact opposite. It teaches that adultery, cheating, etc is normal and acceptable/appropriate behavior. It's not true. It teaches that gay couples who raise kids is as valid as heterosexual couples and that their upbringing is unaffected by the sexual orientation of their parents. It's not true.
More and more, we can blame society for the twisted values it is imposing on our kids. It is definitely a parent's job to raise their kids to become proper human beings, but it's not as easy anymore with all the strong influences of media all around them.

It was basically saying that gay parents were raising kids that had confidence, fit in, were outgoing etc... It said that gay people have to go to a lot of effort to raise kids, where any hetero can shit out a kid and let tv and video games raise the kid for them.

What's that show kids today? Teaches young boys to objectify woman and young girls that it's okay to be objectified.
If people took a stand and said no I'm not participating in that I want better for my children the world would be a better place.

Those are nice thoughts but a little too idealistic for me. I agree with parents not letting their kids see it and teaching then not to objectify women, etc. But as long as men have sexual desires there's always a market and women willing to sell themselves
That's all fine but don't fault the man for putting his car in the calendar or even the guy selling the calendar. Just keep it away from your kids and teach your son to respect women and daughter to respect herself.

The car culture is pretty bad. Mitch might be able to link a video that will disgust you at a minitruck show. You can't take your kids to half those shows. The magazines and calendars are gross and personally, I think insulting to men as if you all have lizard brains. You don't. If you have kids, then your participation in something is your endorsement. Especially to kids, but even if you don't have kids. That's life.
I think Mitch was just giving DB a hard time bc of his past comments on dress for women, family values, yet his participation in the objectification of women in car culture.
Really, it wasn't all too long ago that those exact things you mentioned weren't that way. It doesn't take a bleach bottle blonde and big fake tits to get me to buy a set of wheels for my car.
It's sad that I can't take my son to certain larger car shows like SEMA, World of Wheels, and a bunch of others because of what is deemed as appropriate. It didn't use to be that way..
