Our right to keep and bear arms was given to us for good reason. Some people seem to be confused about the 2nd Amendment, so here are some quotes by some of the men who drafted it:
Zachariah Johnson: "The people are not to be disarmed of their weapons- they are left in full possesion of them".
Thomas Jefferson: "No free man shall be debarred the use of arms".
George Washington: "A free people ought to be armed".
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government".
James Madison: "Oppressors can tyrannize only when they achieve a standing army, an enslaved press, and a disarmed populace".
George Mason: "Disarming the people is the most effective way to enslave them".
