You are making a very shallow assumption that the people in charge are too inept to be able to legislate a "middle-ground". One that doesn't invite pure anarchy, and one that doesn't legislate a complete KGB atmosphere. Maybe you've been jaded by government.

Granted this administration, and past ones have a lousy track record -- but i do believe still that they have americans best interests at heart, and are intent on taking full advantage of new advances provided by the private sector, fueled by the explosion of the internet and new computer technologies -- for the common good (bush-can-do-no-right bashers chill for a sec).

I like sleeping at night knowing that if someone killed my family member -- their murderer can be found on a simple shoplifting charge somewhere in Alaska, courtesy of a simple 10-minute FBI-run livescan fingerprinting process.

Technology. Personally i love this shit. Makes us stand out from the other mickey mouse countries. Becoming the world leader in efficiency.

You are almost right on the button here. Pretty scary stuff. And you know the national id thing won't last long because some terrorist will forge it and blow up some other building and that is when they will sell the sheep(the american people) on the chip idea.

Ylifter, you don't a drivers license to buy anything these days. You can still use cash. But cash will go away to and the way you will buy and sell will be with the mark of the beast(the chip).
