Who could committ the perfect crime? Is it possible these days with D.N.A.

Maybe a body suit would allow for it..

Advise needed in case I ever do...........:mix:

RyanH,

Your question is hardly difficult to answer. The annals of true crime are filled with "perfect crimes." (I'm assuming that you mean murderers who got to go free.) Here are a few that come to mind:

Jon Benet Ramsey
Jack the Ripper
O.J. Simpson
Jimmy Hoffa
The Black Dahlia
Sal Mineo
Chandra Levy

Well Chandra Levy is still yet to be shown to be the "Perfect Crime." I do think its safe to say that "Ramsey" murder was definitely a perfect crime. However, I disagree with you on the Simpson case as being a perfect crime. To me, a perfect crime occurs when there is still some mystery left as to who did it, but from the standpoint that it was the perfect crime b/c one got away with it..........Simpson is definitely correct.

WHAT ABOUT THE BOSTON STRANGLER....

Well, I might be adding Chandra to the list prematurely, but I'll stand by the rest. Although, like you, I'm convinced O.J. did it, it was never proved (in a criminal court).

As for the Boston Strangler, I think De Salvo admitted to it and died during the 1970s while in prison. However, from what I've read in recent years on the case, De Salvo was insane (duh!) and admitted guilt because he enjoyed the attention. The real strangler was an Egyptian guy but I can't remember the name (Nazir?) ...

What are your thoughts?

Most people believe that Salvo didn't do it....he lied to get media attention.

He was going to tell the real story, later on, but If I remember correctly he died before he was able to.

So May, if you were going to committ the perfect crime, would you do it or hire a hit man.

And no I'm not really thinking about committing the perfect crime. I've become more interested in criminal law....

I'd do it myself. (This is an intellectual exercise only - I could never hurt a fly!!!)

In the late 70s early 80s when the Philadelphia Mob was at its peak, the Don Angelo Bruno organized the perfect hit.

He would have the hitman kill the guy, 2 diggers make a hole. They would get the body from the hitman and drop the body off at the whole. 2 "movers", that were specially chosen, would then pick up the body, fill the whole with dirt, and take the body somewhere else where it would be buried.

Say the authorites thought of accusing the hitman. No body = no proof. Say somehow the 2 diggers were accused and they fessed up. When they went to the hole, there would be no body. The only people who knew were the people who moved the body and the Don, and they wouldn't sell out. Crime was never figured out.

Pretty damn clever. He put Atlantic City on the map too.

Interesting, I had never heard of this....
