the perfect body (arnold)

It's a very feminine thing to need constant positive re-enforcement from the opposite sex based on how you look.

Now, the funny thing is that the bbers of yesteryear used to bulk up. A LOT. Like 50+ lbs of dbol laced blubber when they weren't competing.. I blame joe weider but seriously, it's fucked if some of you are thinking bbers should be walking around at 5% all the time.. That's a fantastic way to stay at under 200lbs all your life unless you have dexter jackson's genetics.

personally, mentzer is perfect to me but todays guys are jaw dropping. Maybe not cute like those A&F models, but fuck, that's progression for you.

If you are a heterosexual, I think what women think does matter to about 99% of the men out there. The other 1% are at home playing video games. It may not be your main reason for working out, but it does factor into the equasion. I work out mainly for my job (strength) but I also like to look good (and I do) and even though I am happily married, it is ncie to get the looks from women. If you don't admit that you are either lying or gay....or a lying gay. :p

i know bro but u get my point

I prefer the look of the earlier years of body building. I have never seen a pro up close until about 2 weeks ago in vegas I ran into jay cutler. That dude is so huge in person it was unreal he looked like a cartoon. When guys get that big I think it takes alot to get used to that look. They dont look anything like they do in the mags.

Favorite pumping iron moment: when arnold says "its almost there" back when it was an art and you sculpted your body

Arnold really was one of a kind. Who else could look that massive at 6'2 and only 232lbs (his contest weight in Pumping Iron). At his biggest he was 242 on stage (1974) and the lightest 227 (1980 O). Yet he looks amazingly huge for such a tall guy and light weight. Maybe it's the small waist (and yes 34 inches on a tall man is small. Sure dexter has a 27inch waist, but the guy is also a midget, 5'8 or something), big pecs, huge calves with athletic thighs and bulging biceps. Those key bodyparts all flowing together I think gave Arnold an illusion of being bigger than he really was. Even in movies he looked big and he couldn't have been more than 215-220 in those cheesy 80 films.

Why compare Arnold with Ronnie? The guys in the 70's looked the way they looked because that was the biggest they could get back then.Yes,there was more emphasize on aesthetics and symmetry and their body was more pleasing to the eye.Today with all the new stuff around it is possible to come in more bigger.Although not very pleasing, guys walking around with guts but they are much bigger than bbers of earlier years. The thing is that everything changes with time.Just imagine if ronnie was competing in the 70's,how would he look?Obviously he would be smaller, more aesthetic, wont have a gut and could easily execute a vacuum pose. Now lets bring arnold to today and how would he look?He would be much bigger, less symmetrical and would be walking around with a gut. Why?Because size matters these days and to win you have to do whatever necessary to win even if u end up looking freaky.

So,you cant compare these guys and call modern bodybuilders losers because all of them are doing what it takes to win and not to impress someone else.If all the stuff we have today was available back then, all those 70's guys will be much bigger and less symmetrical.
