The original G'nR were the epitomy of rock

You can argue all you want, but they encompassed everything that is rock: A wild front man, speed/drinking habits among his band mates, massive shows, riot-inciting presence/exits, not to mention good hard rock with mild blues, punk, and metal infusions.
If you're a rock fan and you don't like G'nR, then you must alternately be a fan of pyschogenic/stoner bands, ie Led Zeppelin, Greatful Dead, etc. It's nearly impossible to love both types. The original G'nR was also the last great rock band. Everything since has been mere conformity to the system and current trends by comparison. The spirit of true rock is dying, and needs a G'nR reunion to revive it. An event like that would be in the running for the greatest show in the history of rock.

GnR did do a revival tour and oddly enough their drinking / drug addicted lead singer canceled the majority of them

Ummmm....NO.

I like rock. Iron Maiden, Aerosmith were good rock.

GnR is a group of sub par musicians and a front man who sings like hes gargling a hair ball.

Yeah, and he was the only original member. That doesn't cut it.

saw them with faith no more opening for metallica and then gnr at giants stadium in 92.

they were great. metallica was better though.

no album has been able to compare to appetite for destruction since, with the exception of justin timberlake's newest sexy album.

That is what he did when the band was together too. When he did show up for a show, he was usually too out of his mind to be any good.

Steven Tyler's voice is pretty much all you hear in any Aerosmith song. Their productions were also weak. Plus they pretty much sold out the last decade or so.
