The Official "how did your physique/figure develop from start to finish '05"? thread

and what are your goals during 2006?

what were your overall changes in weight?
overall changes in bodyfat?
overall changes in strength?
overall changes in aerobic fitness?
significant changes to any bodyparts in particular?

personally over the course of 2005 i stayed natty (of course), have gained about 5lbs overall, but lost easily another that much of fat...so im probably up 10lbs lean tissue for the year.

bodyfat has gone down a couple of points easily

i look better these days cold, in the morning, while i drink my coffee than i did a year ago fully pumped and sodium depleted.

i managed to rehab a 2 year old shoulder dislocation, where i couldnt lift a 20lb dumbbell over my head without it aching for hours and stopping my workout in my tracks, to doing 100lb dumbbell overhead presses without a spotter (longtime fantasy for the guy with the destroyed shoulder lol) and bringing my delts up to the level of the rest of my bod

pecs have many new striations as well as ridges where they insert on the sternum

forearms of all things are getting thicker and more vascular

thighs have filled out well, good hamstring bicep, calves have a few new lines and even some vasculature

back has come along great, with lats FINALLY coming out a bit, traps developed hugely (thankyou, deadlifts) pulling my chest back so that i dont have that "overpowered chest" hunch

aerobic fitness has gone from "omg...stairs" to being able to run for a couple of hours or being able to get into a 100% physical exertion boxing match without being too ashamed at the results, but could get better

goals this year are to achieve the same sorts of changes...if i can look as good in a year relaxed as i do now, pumped, my cup floweth over, truly.

oh and i want to win next months powerlifting comp :) even though ive never competed...thats not too much to as for, is it? :D

This is the best I've looked in 2-3 years. Lost 20lbs, gained back 5, then lost 3 (per last weigh in). Body Fat went from 34% to 20%. Strength, I went from squatting the Bar Only to being able to squat 120lbs!! Cardiovascular Health isn't as strong as 2004. I was able to run an 8min mile @ a fat 149lbs. One goal this year is to get my cardiovascular strength back. I miss that.

I'm proud that I was able to maintain the weight loss over a full year. I don't want to get too lean. I'm very proud of being a curvy, size 4 (I'm 5'2 and have a small frame; I'm meant to be a lot smaller than 132lbs).

Goals: This year will be even better. I will be doing a Powerlifting Meet this year. Starting a 5x5 program tomorrow and then a PL program in March. I want to do this at the 123lb class, thus this will keep me motivated on my diet.

i can finally squat again
did 2 cycles of Madcow's 5x5 and my bench went from a 3 year plateau to increase by 100lbs on the 1RM (well, 3x2RM really)
gained 10 lbs

goal in 2006 is to eat regularly and lose some bf%... and in April i'll take up tai chi, JKD or CrossFit.... more than one if I can find the time

okay..i;ll break it down. i went from a 200lbs of pure muscle with a 6 pack to a 195 of mush right now due to stress and not working out for a year. but im back in business and will be back within 2 months!.

im a thuncky lil shit right now, hold alot of muscle but not as hard as i like to be.... all intime though..

kick ass in 06

first time hitting 200lbs this year. Broke a lot of milestones.
have been getting fat lately but retaining muscle mass and strength nicely. Back is getting huge.

January is cutting time and unfortunately I have to deal with everyone else and their half assed gym commitments.

2005 began with me being better than goldendelicious.

2005 ended with me being better than goldendelicious.

fixed

Pretty much stayed the same, but did set some strength records. THe only way I'm gonna improve from this point, is with drugs. And I'm not willing to take the amount that it would take to accomplish that. So, I'll have to be satisfied with where I'm at. I was very consistent and have been for many years. Let up too much on the cardio and it took effect after awhile.

good year! started training more specifically for rugby rather than a general BB workout, and saw amazing results. Went from 185 to close to 200 naturally, still around 10% bf (except during the season when all the running drops me to ~6%). My arms look smaller but i barely work them so that makes sense, but they're way stronger so i dunno

goals for this season is gain the weight back i lost during exams and get to around a solid 200lbs, but work on speed and strength instead of size

started around 190 about 15% bf by june got up to 198 same bf% looking and feeling good then it went down hill to where i assume im 185ish and prob 18%bf,but now that im use to my job im getting shit back on track starting tue,my diet is in check now its great

Re: The Official "how did your physique/figure develop from start to finish '05"? thr

2005 was a wild year for me....

Started cutting on my own in January.....then decided to do a show, so did that whole process which f*cked with my head so I then ate everything I possibly could in October.....now I'm not really doing anything....

Strength is up - pressed a set of chest presses with 45s the other day....but I need to improve my cardio fitness.....and I need to work on my skiing regimen.....then will start the show thing again for shows in June, July, Aug & Sept.....

Crazy....

I placed 3rd two times (competed in more than one class) and 2nd once in two state shows this summer. I am down to 220 right now, which feels tiny. Shoot me.

I am 30 lbs heavier right now (not in a good way) then about this time last year. Some injuries, a lot of drinking and a lot of laziness. Things are in motion to reverse this though.

This is the year of SoreArms

I went from age 40 to 41 and this year I expect to hit age 42.

2005 has been a year of transition for me & i'm still in transition. After 2 yrs of pure frustration w/ my job situation (resulting in 2 moves cross country) I was nice & tubby in fall 2004. With intention to compete in 2005 once I bought my house & settled into a new job, I went from 165 lb / 24% bf to ~135 lb, ~8% bf by May & competed. Rebounded a bit over the summer and more apathy as my new job proved to be even more boring & apathetic than I anticipated. Planned to do another show in Sept, but 2 weeks out bailed on that as I just got tired of all the dieting, sitting at my boring job & getting involved in an informal additional project for a total of avg 20 hrs / day of work. (LMAO like I was gonna do 2 hrs of cardio in there too...) In Sept I quit the one job for the project that turned into a job. But the frustration level w/ a screwed up organization pretty much had me turned to eating shit & not going to the gym first due to the 20 hr work days, then just from being surrounded by a bunch of idiots.

Basically my weight is inversely proportional to my job satisfaction. Waiting patiently for some shit to get put in order & get myself focused again. At the moment I'm bordering on complete apathy.

the same which i'm happy with.....just focussing on being consistant and not really worrying about making great improvements or setting any goals physique wise. Have to make too many other sacrficises in other sapects of life to do that which i'm not prepared to do.

Well 2005 was an amazing year for me.

I was the smallest (leanest) that I've ever been this year at 103lbs, 11% bf, I competed twice, first time ever on stage I placed 15th out 50 girls, and the second time on stage I placed 19th out of 100 girls.

I also was my heaviest this year at 122lbs, 23% bf (love those curves).

My strength improved, I can squat 205lbs for reps and sets. The strength I've gained in my back is probably what I'm most happy with, I now can do pulldowns at 105lbs, the maximum I was able to do before was 55lbs.

I'm excited to see what 2006 holds for me.

I should give you the fish for calling me a chunkster. :p Can you believe that there are guys the prefer the chunster to the lean mean QT?

I have not maxed in forever. Can't train like a powerlifter when cutting like a bodybuilder. Last heavy session for DL got up to 185 x 6, last heavy squats 155 x 6, nothing to write home about that is for sure.

I, for one, would kick the non chunky QT outta bed for a glazed donut...but the bootylicious one couldn't get away from me in a Ferrari.

aww cheer up

I wouldnt discriminate :)

05 started of great but I ended it basically looking like shit. After 5 weeks I am almost back to where I was size wise at the start of 05. I will spend 2006 getting back to where I should be and then better that some.

Lost 12cm off my waist :P. Thats about it, strength went up and gained a bit of mass. Main goal last year was to add some lean mass and drop the body fat.
