It is remarkable to me that reporters and media types comment on the subject of steroids simply by casting whatever notion they have determined in their head about the subject.

Today on national radio I was told that steroids will kill you, make you blind, crazy and more or less on par with crack cocaine and heroin abuse. That you inject steroids into your veins for a sudden "roid rush". That people who use steroids are violent threats to sociaty in every facet.

I heard a caller explain a story about how he met Lyle Alzado and said he could see the RAGE in his eyes. That he was an untammed beast ready to strike.

I heard many callers pleading for Jason Giambi and Barry Bonds to be thrown out of baseball for good. That they were the worst type of human beings, and clearly driven by steroid sickness.

I angers me to a point of utter disgust that the media has the power to influence people and so carelessly portrays steroids will little to any truth behind their statements. I wish with Rick Collins help that would form a steroid lobby platform to help educate the public with the real information about aas usage.

People if we don't start fighting now, I am afraid the future is bleak.

well we have a large community it is just in hidding. We need doctors and people respected lawyers like Rick Collins, we need to show our force in numbers. You just can't bury your head in the sand and say there is nothing I can do. Trust me bro the way things are going now using steriods will land you 10 years in prision in the near future.

I heard caller after caller say Giambi and Bond should be locked up. They we no longer looked at as human beings, but mental freaks who decieded to kill themselves for more homeruns.

it angers me too greatest the media is always so one sided and uneducated about aas they just paint a bad picture for everyone its amazing you are right we should fight back but at this point steroids are looked down on so much that asking people to come foward admitting to using something that 60-80% percent of the population has a negative veiw on wil be very very difficult

What is sad is that there are groups that protect and advocate everything from minority rights to saving endangered species to alternative lifestyles and to date there is no body or group that will take a stand in defense of intelligent steroid therapies and uses. I've actually written letters to congressmen and other gov't officials and included factual scientific studies that show the positives of steroids and have not received a single response from anyone. Oxycotin, Viagra, Ambien, Zocor, Valtrex...all have higher sides than a responsible AAS compound and regardless of what they were created for, have all been widely excepted by the general public. People refuse to realize that most of these meds were invented to compensate for the populations poor health habits. God forbid that we become a healthy vibrant society. Wait until "W" can't get it up anymore, i'm pretty sure that HRT won't look like such an evil entity then.

Exactly something needs to be done, a lobby created. Because if you look at the situation laws and judgements about aas are being created without any factual evidence.

My mother called me today and proclamied that Test is an evil and has no buisness in this world. I said have you been listening to the media, she said yes. I said do you realize that a 51 year old man can have more estogen in his body then test. That HRT can actually help cure people of depression, sexual disfunction and energy lapses. I said do you know what HRT is. That test is the fule that the male body runs on and in many cases after 30 Test levels can drop rapidly. I told her in 1991 that almost every major doctor and expert pleaded with Bush senior not to make steriods illegal.

She was shocked and did not believe me, thus I begged her to go on the internet and find the real truth and then get back to me. How can you discuss a matter with someone when your argument is based on lies and rumors.

The problem is the people that let themselves become comsumed by the drugs. Steroid "abuse" is a problem. THe story that is not told is the huge group of responsible individuals who use AAS to achieve a higher state of physicality. Would the public have ever thought differently about Bonds or Giambi if they didn't know about thier steroid use? I think not! To me this is why it is ever important to help and educate newbies about thier AAS use. Once somebody has drugs in hand they will use them one way or another, resposibly or irresponsibly. IT's the irresponsible ones that the media makes examples of.

I think the main problem is that the sane, normal AS users are all quiet about their use. But there is also a jealousy issue for a lot of people that causes people to look down on AS users. I know people that get mad when they hear someone goes to the gym everyday, or eats only healty food, because they themselves are not disciplined enough to do the same. Most people look at their own flabby bodies, then an AS user's body, and they naturally get jealous, and they express this jealousy as "moral outrage" over AS use.

HAving never used anything yet, but a couple PH's I plan on using AAS in the near future. I think it's sad too. I just saw a commercial last night for a women's medication that allows them to only have 4 periods a year. WOndeful right! Well, posiible side effects are heat attack, stroke, and something else that's VERY bad. They also said those side effects FIRST which means they are the predominant negative side effects.

It's hilarious and truly sad at the same time. Noone has the balls to go on national televsision(or the money) and start comparing numbers. How many people die from alchohol abuse each year? How many from cigarettes? From oxycotton, valium and morphine and whatever else you can get prescribed to you from a doctor?

I love my country, I really do, but we are some of the MOST hypocritical mutherfuckers on the planet, PERIOD.

How many deaths each year can be directly attributed to AAS abuse? How many for marijuana?

We say the worst and most addicitve drugs(alchohol and tobacco) are ok, but drugs like marijuana and AAS that are infinitely less addictive or harmful are evil?
