The "I wear pants" syndrome

Squats... I'll do them, but I don't have to like them! My legs suck, but at least I'm working on them. I'm 6'2" and about the shortest guy I train with.. So it's easy for me to get sympathy about squats. Two of my training buddies are 6'5" and 6'7" so we've had to work to find what works best for us, especially the tallest guy. I actually find that squats, no matter how good my form is, work my butt more than my thighs (my glutes are plenty developed). So, I mix it up with squats on a smith machine (legs out front to hit the thighs more) and other movements.

That is exactly like my brother. Dude is a beast underneath his 3 layers, he just goes to the gym to work his ass off, not to show off.

thats my way of thinking too, just do it for the beauty of it, fuck doing it to impress others

That really pisses me off when people do that. That's like the all time worst thing to do. One day I actually saw a guy doing barbell curls and he had a buddy on each side of the bar spotting him. I was just like WTF? You don't have to load up more weight then you can handle and then have three people help move it....

I don't like training legs but I love doing squats. Squats tire me out really fast. After I did squats today I was sucking wind like none other.

Gyms should come equipped with oxygen tanks for people who squat like men. Just my opinion!
 
I do squats but dont like them. I cant ever get the bar right on my back/neck etc...

I agree a lot of guys dont do squats but we must remember that there are lots of guys that have had bad torn acl/mcl's and back problems and squats can destroy a weak knee or back even if form is perfect. I see your point though. :)

lol thats everyones excuse for not squating everyone has a bad knee or bad back...hell my whole body is in pain half the time and i still squat...if ur knees hurt that bad just wrap them up
