It's not Christmas that I hate, it's the run up to the holiday. And the letdown afterwards. I used to wake up Christmans AM and open presents, them play all day. Now we run the kids to 4 different locations on Christmas and they never get a chance to play with the toys they get. Then we come home and have a path thru the house for 2 weeks until everything gets sorted out.

Lately it just seems like Christmas is a huge burden for everyone. It would be nice if everyone just declared - time off! And didn't feel obligated to buy gifts and spend time with family they really don't want to see.

I fail to see the reason to buy more crap for people who don't need more crap just cuz we're "supposed to." It's become so commercial and Gimme Gimme Gimme that's it's just ridiculous. I won't be a part of it.
