EF VIP
2-3 years ago, he and I had run-ins on a daily basis. Im glad that he showed back up recently, a few months after my hiatus, and was good enough to accept the olive branch.

I look forward to his continued posting on the boards...and perhaps some civil debates between him and I. ;)

He was the first one to welcome me on EF ... He is an excellent person.... Kudos to GJohnson.... :artist:

He has been probably the most generous person to me on the site by far, I like to think that GJ and I will hang out someday.

What's up man? Nice to see you back. I wondered what happened to you.

Welcome back to EF bro. I dnt know you, but I'm sure from what I've heard that you're a kickass COTB (Chairman of the Board)

GJ, did you quit your civillian job to join the army?
if i remember you had a good job...why the change? and do you like it?
what mos?

I've lost all hope with society so I went MOS 11b to get blown up by an IED...

Just kidding

I'm out for a while from some knee damage, so I'll be here for a bit.
As for jobs , I was working contract so technically I was self employed and I had been that way for the last 4 years or so.

AT EASE

"People with degrees NEED to go to OCS. Otherwise you're wasting an opportunity so many others would love" --> My company's Colonel.

Being an NCO is fun, but if you're not amused by treating kids like crap all day - it can lose it's luster quick.

Lots of MORONS and STUPID 18 y/o idiots. Just get used to it.

Lots of real cool strong guys with good morals and values. Guys to have beers with.

Lots of red tape bullshit. Things are the lower end are less formal. Problems can be solved with a case of beer. If it goes higher up - even the simplest of things can take over.

Lots of drama-filled annoying females. Especially if young. Don't marry one. Stay awaayy.

The military is NOT for everyone. You could DIE.

The pay sucks. Go Guard/Reserve and keep the day job.

Lots of Idiots / Thugs / White supremecists / Bigots / Gangbangers. You get used to it.

Discipline really means "obedience".

The experiences will be something you can talk about proudly til you're 99.

So -- it's a hard decision, especially in wartime, but with due diligence - you can decide.

Expect your first introduction to the miltary (meps, rsp, basic, ait) to be "treated like whale shit" phase. You might as well get used to it now.

It's been pretty fun.
I take alot of shit being 35 and just now joining , but I laugh at myself just as much as the DS's laugh at me...

I should have done this atleast 10 years earlier but then I had no wish to be in the military. It wasn't the smart thing to do in my eyes. Also I knew the life my dad lived with 2 kids and being in the Air Force. He had more kids then stripes at one point. We were poor and as we all know you'll never make much money until you're like an e-8.

I don't intend on going that route (remaining an NCO), I just don't wanna be labeled as a do nothing officer

We'll see
