Hello everyone,
I have had the forum page archived on my work computer for some time now and decided that it was time i joined. I have really only recently started to take my weight training serious....i hope i am not to old, but reading many posts, I don`t believe I am. Having said that....i will probably come out with some stupid questions, but please help me as this is all new to me. My current goal is bench pressing my own weight (slightly embarrassed right now) . Got to start somewhere. Look forwarding to reading everyones posts. Cheers!

Welcome! You're never too old to start. Just got my mom started this year and she's 64. Glad to have you on board!

Whatcha doin in Japan? My brother and his fiance spent a year there teaching English...interesting life there.

just realized that i really never introduced myself to everyone so here it goes. . .

i am 22 from texas. grew up here my whole life and love it here. guess i am a die-dard texan. i am currently working on my paramedic degree along with a biology. someday i would like to go back and get my nursing degree. i also currently work as a certified nurse's aide. i have been doing this kind of work for the past 4 years. after recovering from a major back / shoulder injury i am just starting to lift weights again. it's been very fustrating getting started again, but i am determined to get there again. i have no children, but hope to someday. only after i find the right guy ( i hope), but if they come before i'll love them the same.

How I missed this thread I don't know. I've been in a lot of transition the last year. I just moved to Atlanta from Minneapolis, where I had moved to be closer to family while I worked out of my house as a contractor for an outsourcing company. Prior to that I lived in S. Florida for 12 years. I'm still in temporary housing & trying to adapt to the new job, but I'm closing on my new townhouse next week. Between work & the traffic here, I basically haven't been in a gym for 2 months. I've also got a lot of soft tissue issues in the lower back & shoulders so I also just found a good chiropractor who has ART / soft tissue & sports / strength training background. I just met the guy yesterday but I"m looking forward to getting a whole rehab / training routine put together, along w/ a new diet. The frustration of lower back pain, long hours and not wanting to commit to a gym near my temp housing that won't be near my townhouse has kept me out of the gym in general. Eh, its just been sort of a general frustration about staying in shape so I just stopped worryign about it until I move.

Otherwise, quick intro - I competed 2x in BB in 2000, and found EF while looking for something to keep me occupied while waiting for my next scheduled meal before the 2nd show I did. I've learned SOOO MUCH on this board & in the online BB community in general. I've come to realize I know about 90% more than most of the trainers I've worked with and now would pay major bucks to be able to toss my current career & pursue some of that really cool chiro / soft tissue stuff I'm doing right now. I was in the best shape of my life 4 years ago, and now I feel like I'm falling apart at the joints. I didn't understand how it all works until just this summer when I found this great chiro w/ a focus on sports chiro & soft tissue work. But until I, oh I don't know, marry a rich guy, quit my job & go back to school for med & chiro, I'll just focus on building & executing a good recovery program. :) I'm sure that will be a new learning experience by itself!

Well my name is Tracey i joined I think last week. i have found the information on this board very helpful, and some of the pictures i have seen quite inspiring. I am from Toronto Ontario canada and i wokr in marketing. I guess i have a swimmers build and the reason i am so interested in this board is because i want to improve, and enhance my physic. Im pretty muscular as it is but i guess some of it may be covered by a small layer of fat which i have been working my ass of the last month to get rid of. I'm 5'6 130lbs, and have quite a large frame. Anyhow i find most of what you guys have to say quite interesting and hope to keep learning more and more
