BUT it sure as hell doesn't seem that way sometimes, wars, new diseases, old diseases, killer tomatos from Alpha Centauri, massive over-population of the world, genocidal religious cults, Britney Speares, drunk-ass russians who have no clue how many nuclear warheads they're supposed to have, all that shit that keeps us awake at night.

So just for the hell of let your inner pessimist out and explain why the future will SUCK. All of you irrepressible optimist people can fuck off. You can start a The future rules! thread instead.
