The only problem I see is - if you lose your card or some hacker buys computers with your CC in russia - the cc company/bank can say it's impossible - you clearly gave it up recklessly and disregard your claim.
Clearly, once again, the gubmetn will have to put in some protections. Kinda like in the auto-world, if you have one of those new ignition-security alarms and your car is stolen, auto companies have called owners liars and said the car is 'unstealable' and denied whole claims. When clearly if you go on the web, thieves can steal these cars too.
If banks will not protect you if the card is stolen - i would refuse one of these. I'll keep my usual debit card.
btw: I still think the fingerprint swipe is stil the easiest and most secure protection. That and daily email updates on card usage - which many still don't have set on.
