the current state of rnb/hip hop is saddening

i chcked out a shoe store today and they were playing 'urban' music- run of the mill rnb/hip hop etc etc. my god.. what terrible, terrible music.

these artists are so cookie cutter and run of the mill with no inspiration or redeeming feature to this music. their lyrics are callous and could have been written by a 3yr old. actually the 3yr old would do a better job; every second word in the song was 'baby.' its always 'hold you.' 'baby' 'girl.' 'boy' 'baby' 'baby' 'oooooooh' 'baby.' then they played this terrible terrible rap song where the guy just kept repeating "this is why im hot. this is why youre not. this is why im hot."

im listening to marvin right now and goddamn.. what a voice, what beats, what lyrics.. just mesmerizing.

if u listen to 'if i should die tonight' and any one of these sad excuses rnb, the difference is like night and day.
